How Soon Did You Hear ?

Published

After the cut off date for applying to nursing school, how long did it take for you to hear from them? The cut off date for the Fall 07 LPN Program was March 1, some have said I should hear from them within 2-3 weeks if I am going to get in. I'm just curious how long it took some of you to hear from them. Also, if you didn't get in, were you notified? Blessings to all.:wink2:

My application cut-off date for the Fall '07 BSN program was Nov. 1st '06. First notification for interviews was in Jan. '07 and final notification for acceptance, I was told, would be end of Feb/beginning of March. Since Feb has come and gone with no word, I'm assuming I should hopefully hear something this week! I was told by the school that I would know for sure whether I got in or not because they send both acceptance letters and denial letters.

I haven't heard from all the schools yet.....but most of them send their letters out about 2 months after the cut off.

Good Luck!

My school's deadline was Feb. 1 and they told us that we would hear 6-8 weeks after the deadline. But I got my letter exactly a month after the deadline...

Good luck!

Yeah my school's cut off was Jan 20 and I heard back March 1...so a little over a month for me!

My school's deadline for applications was end of January. We all then needed to take the NLN by 3/3. We don't hear if we have been accepted to the program until mid-April.

My other school you fill out a pre-nursing application. You then send transcripts so then can ensure you have taken high school algebra, chem and bio. After that you get approved for the Accuplacer. After passing that you get scheduled for the NET. It is only after you pass the NET that you fill out an actual nursing application. they also wait until you pass API to officially put you on the list. It's a little long winded, but I guess they cut down on the people that really aren't serious about seeing things through. They have been fair and nice thus far.

We had to fill out a nursing school application, obtain copies of all transcripts, provide proof we have completed our CNA and are not on the abuse registery, proof of BLS, copies of ACT scores, Compass scores, and a typed letter as to why we wanted to be a nurse. Had to sumbit in a legal size envelope with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. I've been told by students already in the program that at the last deadline which was 10/1/06 - they heard by the end of October and had orientation in November. I have a few classmates that wanted to try & get in the Aug 07 class, however, they would never get their application packet together (guess they didn't want in to bad). I just hate this waiting and I am so hoping to hear soon as registration for classes for next semester starts around April 12.

Varies depending on the program. Best timing for me was 3 weeks after application...worst was over two months. And yes, they send you notice either way.

Both the schools I applied to have a two month waiting period. They also both send out letters for acceptance or denial.
