  1. This is very helpful, thank you for this!
  2. I knew it was The First 48! I heard the city of Memphis was not very happy about the perception the show makes on the entire city. As I said earlier, definitely talk to some people who live there about their personal opinions on schools and areas. I wouldn't rely on statistics. Maybe you could check out the Tennessee Nursing Forum on here!
  3. I bet you've been watching The First 48 haven't you lol? Yeah I agree with classicdame, it's just like any other large city in that you have good areas and bad areas. Before making the move I would suggest talking to someone who lives there to get advice on areas to live in, but I would suggest that for any new city you move to you are unfamiliar with.
  4. I think it also depends on the time of year that you apply, as in if you apply when a lot of new graduates are applying for licensure by examination then it will probably take much longer. I mailed my application in March on a Thursday and got the e-mail saying I was approved for licensure by endorsement the next Thursday.
  5. Here is an FAQ that explains what you need to do to obtain a license by endorsement: http://sos.georgia.gov/plb/faqs/38%20faqs.htm And here is the form you need to fill out and submit to the Georgia Board of Nursing. Click on "Application for Licensure by Endorsement". http://sos.georgia.gov/cgi-bin/plbforms.asp?board=38
  6. Job A for sure.....especially since you have the opportunity to do an in house transfer. It will be a lot easier to get into the NICU when you're already in the system and you can make the connections. At the same time you will have the broad ER experience in case you want to change specialties after you get into NICU.
  7. Anybody else have any suggestions for brain sheets?
  8. Yeah I've never heard of any HR that works on saturdays. Could be wrong though...
  9. :yeahthat: Yep I would tell them as soon as you are officially hired.
  10. Yeah i would say Kaplan questions are harder than Saunders questions and even the actual NCLEX questions. I was getting between 60% and 70% and passed with 75 questions, and some of my classmates were getting between 50% and 60% and passed. I think you are good to go!
  11. why does the op's grammar make people so angry, even after she explained and corrected herself
  12. Well I just got a call for an interview today, so with persistence it does happen! Good luck to you!
  13. Two of my SATA questions were identical too. Mine shut off at 75 and I passed. It makes no difference whether you answered those questions right or wrong and I wouldn't stress yourself out by lookin up the answers to the questions. The NCLEX is the type of exam where you will feel bad when you leave no matter what as it is made so that both those that pass and those who fail miss about 50% of the questions. The only difference is that those who pass stayed above the level of passing whereas those who failed did not.
  14. We are all in the same boat right now. The only thing I have learned to do is to be patient as it will ease up soon and more jobs will open up. I'm also considering relocating and taking a job when new grad residency programs open up again for January placement.
