Hi,,,,One of the requirement in immigration visa application is a police clearance from all places/countries we've been.
With this, I would like to ask how to secure police clearance here in saudi arabia, I have been asking around but no one knows where to get it..Police officers here are difficult to talk with (few can speak English)but when tried asking for one, they didn't know what that is..ANyone in the room who has an idea where and how to secure one?....

Please do not go for police clearance yet as you have no idea as to when you will get approval on the DS-230 if it was just submitted for the first time and the police clearance is only good for a limited time as well.
You can find out how to get it in any location by contacting the US Embassy in that country.
But again, do not do anything yet. And you have not even been there for the required six months to get the police clearance. Get one thing done at a time.
Without having the DS-230 even reviewed, you are looking at no time soon, and this is something that needs to be addressed with the attorney and the facility. Under no reason whatsoever should you have been waiting this long.

hi lady nurse.
i have found out that you are working in saudi arabai now. good i found same as my case. my name is erwin and i am presently working here in jeddah, saudi arabia. my immigration application process is also now on process since my pd is august 2005.
based on what ive done, here is the process/steps that you need to take.
1.) go to the nearest us consulate/embassy, tell them that you are a nurse immigrant applicant, show them your ikama, and the packet 2 document or the approval notice from uscis.then ask for a request letter for saudi police clearance.
2.) after obtaining the request letter for police clearance, bring the letter to the saudi arabia's ministry of foreign affairs, have it stamped ( 30sr fee ).
3.) proceed to the police station, bring a passport size picture, a photocopy of your ikama, and the request letter, show that to the police officer and u will be submitted for finger printing.
if you are in riyadh, you can claim the police clearance after three days. in other areas, after 10-14 days.
important to note:
us consulate = consuleya ameriki
ministry of foreign affairs= wazarat al khourijiya
police station= adela gina iya ( like nbi ) dont go to any other police station, just state adela jina iya. and thats it.
i hope this would help.

Just giving an impt. note that original poster is less than 6 mos. in Riyadh and so may not need the local Police clearance just yet as only persons who have worked in another country for at least 6 mos. needs a local Police clearance form that area. That is why a local police clearance was not advised yet.
She also have other issues as well that gives some doubts on whether NVC may be able to give her an interview within this fiscal year (Ds-230 forms and other supporting docs were never given at all as noted) as well and if the local Police clearance from Riyadh will only be good for 6 mos then it may just be waste of time to get one this early.
An NBI clearance is still needed though to verify background from PH and that can be requested on the PH consulates there. Plus, the NBI clearance is good for 1 year.
I do agree with suzanne & lawrence, since ladyNURSE is just less than 6mos. here, u may not need to secure 4 one at this time...
I hope the steps on how to obtain a PC here in saudi arabia that i posted earlier would be of good help 4 those who are here.
Godbless everybody!

Yes, thank you for posting the procedures here in the forum. I'm sure others reading your post will benefit from it.
By the way, how long does the local Police Clearance in Saudi Arabia is valid nowadays? Is it still just 6 mos?
Hello. Regarding the validity, technically when you try to examine the Saudi Police Clearance, You couldn't find anywhere in the said document the expiration date, doesnt even state the validity period. Only the issuance date you could see.
I have asked the police officer personally regarding this matter and He told me that the police clearance is valid for six months but it actually depends on the body/office who requested for it if they'll honor the PC even beyond 6months.
NVC accepts PC not beyond a year old. Otherwise a new PC will be requested.
I hope this information suffices. :loveya:
