having an edge to other nurses!
Hi Pink. I am so happy to have learned some of your achievements and credentials you're holding now. I believe you wont have any difficulties in gaining a job offer in USA. You have to gain good experience while you are still in the Philippines, or you can apply for a nursing job in other countries in the meantime while retrgression is still ON. Attending seminars and short courses would mean that you are active/interested in your profession thus, employers will opt to hire you over the others in any way. Cheers!!!

having an edge to other nurses!
Hello there. I'm not suzanne but I just wanna give some suggestions.. I believe you have a plan in landing a nursing job in US soon. Most of the US hospital employers do require a nurse to have at least two years of recent/current hospital experience to get into their facility. With a large number of new nurses in the Philippines now, nurses finds it difficult to get easily hired by Hospitals there even for just a volunteer nurse, I mean, Hospitals there prefers nurses with good scholastic records. That is why alot of average nurses had just resorted to attending crash course, seminars etc to keep them active in their profession. Three things I would say that would be an edge to you: 1.) Having a current job in a good facility 2.) Impressive scholastic records 3.) Active with continuing nursing education ( Gains confidence ) Not to mention passing the requied exams like ielts, cgfns and the NCLEX-RN I hop this helps. Godblss you and Goodluck

Police certificates from previous countries of residence
Hello. What Lawrence said is certainly right. If you have worked in Saudi Arabia and was able to get a police clearance upon exit, then that would be substantive as police authorities here wont issue another PC for you once you are out of the Kingdom. The NVC knows about this policy and therefore such requirement is being waived. Godbless

Police certificates from previous countries of residence
Hi greko. I do have a friend same like your case. He worked for three years in Kuwait and now he's back in the Philippines. He was able to obtain a police certificate prior to his final exit in kUWAIT last march 2006. Now his PD is current and NVC wants him to submit a Police clearance from kuwait however his kuwait police clearance is roughly more than a year old now and NVC doesnt honor it. What he did is he visited the Kuwaiti embassy in the Philippines and requested for a new police clearance. Embassy then asked him to coordinate with the Philippine embassy in Kuwait to process in his behalf a new Police certificate which ended up successfully. Hope this would be of help. Godbless you:saint:

How to secure police clearance here in saudi
Hello. Regarding the validity, technically when you try to examine the Saudi Police Clearance, You couldn't find anywhere in the said document the expiration date, doesnt even state the validity period. Only the issuance date you could see. I have asked the police officer personally regarding this matter and He told me that the police clearance is valid for six months but it actually depends on the body/office who requested for it if they'll honor the PC even beyond 6months. NVC accepts PC not beyond a year old. Otherwise a new PC will be requested. I hope this information suffices. :loveya:

NCLEX Review Philippines
Good Day. Ms.Suzanne is making a good point actually. How can one efficiently provide a review with only knowledge on hand, lame of working experience. But I would also like to stress the point what a theorist believes, that knowledge is the core and the most fundamental substance a human possesses thus, experience without knowledge is obviously dangerous. For those who are planning to work and live in US sooner or later, I would suggest you follow the LAW OF RECENCY especially for those newly graduates. Get the experience you need later on, plenty of hospitals looking for volunteer nurses so you wont be worried of finding it hard to get one. For now, focus on reviewing and taking the required exams early since the knowledge you've gain from college are still fresh in your memory. Statistics shows great percentage of passing among those newly graduated nurses when sitting for the exam, than those who've been out of the school more years ago. Godbless and keep believing.

What's next after IELTS?
Hi pxgs. I would like to say congratulations for passing the IELTS. A step closer to your US dream. It wouldnt be possible for you yourself to send the TRF to CGFNS as they wont accept that. They will only honor the TRF that comes directly from the IELTS administering center. But nothing to worry about, just go to the administering center ( British Council/IDP Australia) and request them to send a copy of your TRF to the CGFNS. Dont worry, everything would be fine, the most important thing is you cleared the IELTS. Congratulations again Cheers

NCLEX Review Philippines
Hello there. I just would like to share my opinion in here. I strongly believe that passing the NCLEX is not that easy at all. It takes plenty of time to review and do the drills. Now the question is, what does one prefers, to enroll in a review center, or to simply do the SELF REVIEW? I myself is a USRN, I passed the NCLEX-RN for the state board of New York roughly a year ago. I only did a self review since I am incapable of getting into a review center, its too expensive and nobody will finance it for me. It takes one to believe in his potentials..strive, then hit it to NCLEX glory. It's more self-fulfilling passing nclex on your own, independent from any review centers. However, we need to consider and admit that not everybody can be like me or like others who did self-review, I mean, reviewing is like learning, and learning is an individualized process. A person learns and acquire Knowledge in different ways. We know ourselves better. If you think self review wont be effective and reviewing through review centers would lead you to success and that you have the financial means, then go for it. Afterall, you'll be the one who'll be benefited from the decision you'll make. I just would like to react with what Ms. Suzanne said earlier. I was once a reviewer of kaplan in the Philippines. I admit that I've never practice nursing in US but I guess I was able to help thousands of filipino nurses in making their US dream come true, and that is what's matters the most. Cheers and goodluck to everybody...

How to secure police clearance here in saudi
hi lady nurse. i have found out that you are working in saudi arabai now. good i found same as my case. my name is erwin and i am presently working here in jeddah, saudi arabia. my immigration application process is also now on process since my pd is august 2005. based on what ive done, here is the process/steps that you need to take. 1.) go to the nearest us consulate/embassy, tell them that you are a nurse immigrant applicant, show them your ikama, and the packet 2 document or the approval notice from uscis.then ask for a request letter for saudi police clearance. 2.) after obtaining the request letter for police clearance, bring the letter to the saudi arabia's ministry of foreign affairs, have it stamped ( 30sr fee ). 3.) proceed to the police station, bring a passport size picture, a photocopy of your ikama, and the request letter, show that to the police officer and u will be submitted for finger printing. if you are in riyadh, you can claim the police clearance after three days. in other areas, after 10-14 days. important to note: us consulate = consuleya ameriki ministry of foreign affairs= wazarat al khourijiya police station= adela gina iya ( like nbi ) dont go to any other police station, just state adela jina iya. and thats it. i hope this would help. erwinrn post edited to remove personal contact information, that is not permitted here for your safety. feel free to share it via the pm function that we have here. suzanne4
