Hi, I'm a first year starting in a few weeks, and bought a Littman. I've heard that these tend to "walk" pretty easy, and so I would like to put my name on it. Any suggestions? TIA :balloons:

I can vouch for the walking off...my first Litman did. My second one my DH bought me for Christmas with my name engraved on it. Thankfully, we got an employee discount through DH's employer.
I ordered mine from the states at a company that engraved my name on it.

http://www.reeldifference.com/Bracelets.html I got one of these. It's cute.
I'm going to make myself one of these. You can get the beads for practically nothing at a local craft store. That way I can make it small enough to fit snugg. Not permanent - but cute. I bought an abnoxious green color so most wouldn't want it. When I look back I can say " I remember in nursing school I had this ugly green stethoscope, but no one stole it" lol

I just ordered one from www.Steeles.com yesterday. I got my name engraved on the metal part, which is the expensive part. And it can't be removed!

I used a little heart shaped tag that I got at PetSmart. It's supposed to go on the dog's collar obviously, but it works on the stethoscope as well. Pretty cheap, too, only like 6 or 7 dollars, engraved with whatever you want.

Depending on the model, you can get the bell engraved (like this one: http://www.allheart.com/select.html) or you can get an I.D. tag. I bought my Littman Classic II S.E. through http://www.reddingmedical.com and they gave me a free I.D. tag that looks like this: http://www.allheart.com/select.html
The I.D. tag came with a little plastic thing that you can get engraved with your name along with a paper-like thing that you can write on if you don't want to pay the extra money for the engraving (and it's expensive!) You don't have to order I.D. tags online - I know that places that sell medical scrubs/supplies sell them, too. :heartbeat

All my stethoscopes have orange tubing...my good one and my spares. No one wants to be seen with an orange stethoscope, so finding where I left left it is never a problem. A black stethoscope is easily lost with the crowd. The only problem is that theory is the better a scope you need, the less of a chance that is comes in a color other than black.

i purchased mine from steeles.com already engraved with my name. i have a littman name tag that i am going to put on it as soon as it comes back from being engraved. i also purchased a dog tag online to attach to the tubing....talk about overkill, but i don't want it to walk!
i looked at all the engraving options at stethoscopes.com and they look really amazing, i may have to add to my steth later.
