How to pay NMC application fee for overseas nurses

Good day! I just received the request for application pack from the NMC, In the booklet it is said that I need to pay an application fee of 140GBP, i read that I can pay through check, bank draft or credit card. JUST THAT. There was no specific instruction on how to actually send your payment. Any overseas nurses out there who has already paid the application fee? how did you do it? if you used bank draft/personal checks, what banks do the NMC honor? Would really appreciate the help.

Hi raij, thanks for your help, but i haven't sent my application yet.. =) in the envelope that they have included, did you write your name on the upper left hand corner? like when you are writing a normal letter? thank you!

Nope, I don't remember doing so. Hey, if you don't mind hearing me out. Don't rush your UK dream. Wait for a better opportunity. The best offer I've seen so far is that of Greenfields. I know someone who was deployed by Greenfields and she's doing all right. I also know someone who went there on student visa and it's not a good story to tell. Be patient. It's not easy living overseas without job and without funds.

I think that sums it all up. I'll check back with you later 'cause I might have forgotten something. As for the payment, I paid with a credit card. I couldn't find a bank that issues bank drafts in pounds. If you don't have your own credit card, you can ask your friends/relatives to lend you one. And to save on mailing, just mail it at your local post office as REGISTERED MAIL. It's cheaper, P120. Mine reached it's destination in less than 2 weeks. I know so because they received my documents before I finally decided to call them up to settle the fee of 140 pounds. :p To pay by credit card call: 0207 333 6600. Please note time difference. We are 8 hours ahead of their time plus they are on daylight saving time which means 9 a.m. is 8 a.m. I hope I'm not confusing you. :uhoh3: (I have globe SIM so I dialed this sequence: 1280044 2073336600. You may not connect on the first try so try again :D)

NOTE: f you are using someone else's credit card, the owner should be beside you to supply the details for the credit card. The will only ask you details like PRN #, name, birth date but the credit card information should be provided by the owner of the credit card himself/herself.

BTW, I didn't know how to label the forms so I referred only to it as request forms. Call them however you like.:D

What's a PRN # and/or where can I find it? Thanks btw for your detailed instructions. My papers arrived in UK last month, but I haven't paid yet for the fees.

Hey there. Glad to help. You should find the PRN number on the letter page of packet 1, the one where you detached the sheets you returned to NMC along with the required documents. It is labeled PRN # so you should not have trouble finding it. I'll get back to you later 'cause I need to verify myself if it was stamped on the other pages included in the packet. I don't remember. But I'm sure it was on the letter page. They will not do anything to your papers until you pay. They will not even review the documents you just sent to see if you did it right unless you pay the fees. So if you are in a hurry, better grab that phone and credit card and call them up.;)

Getting back to you on that PRN #. I've looked at the documents sent by NMC and so far only the letter page contains the PRN #. It's right after the greetings. :)

Thanks so much raij!

Hiya hanex... did you find a practice placement? I've contacted a handful of hospitals here in London (Guys and St. Thomas, Princess Alexandra, St. Georges, Clementine Churchill...) regarding the supervised practice but apparently they are not offering it as of the moment. If I am still out of luck, I might also resort to an agency.

Hi. Try aureus manpower. They seem to have a good offer at the moment. Check their post on workabroad site under January 3 entries. Although this was posted back in September last year. Maybe they need more. lots of luck. :D

Thanks so much raij!

You are welcome.:D

No worries. As long as you are sent to the UK under Tier 2 (classified as skilled worker) of the points based system of the UK Home Office, then there's no issue. And as long as their "partner agencies" are currently licensed by the POEA, and they don't charge excessive placement fees, then go ahead.

thanks for all the info guys n gals.

Can someone help me? How many years is the NMC decision letter valid? Will it expire?

It is valid for 2 years since the date on the decision letter.

Hey everyone, I'am about to send my NMC mandatory pack tomorrow, and i need an advice on this: So I'll just have to use the envelope they provided to send the requirements back, and do I need to write my return address on the envelope, or just send it without writing anything on it? Thanks.. Also, Metrobank does a bank draft in pounds.. :)
