How much do you work in nursing school?

I am unsure if I want to take up a PCA job while being in the program.. its at the same hospital where my school is at. Im currently working in retail and the hours are just on fridays and saturday so its perfect but its also low pay. If I do work as a PCA (patient care assistant) then I would get paid more but they may require more hours. Which is not an option in nursing school. How many hours do you work? should I even be working?

I worked full time almost until the end that I had to drop to part time because of my preceptorship. I had no choice and graduated with a very nice GPA. Not to forget , I also have a kid , a husband and a dog lol

I work about 20 hours a week. It's a lot at times, but most definitely doable.

I also work 24 hours a week. It's tough, but it can be done if you're willing. :-)

I ended up working second shift (3-11p) sat and sun every other weekend and one day during the week. 16 hours per week. Worked out very well for me as I got some decent paychecks and didn't work too often.

I've gone through so many different jobs because I have been a caregiver. Right now I have three jobs (while being a full time nursing student) and these allow me free time to study while on shift...

My main job is a caregiver job with a private client. I work 20-ish hours with them. I work a 14 hour overnight shift on Sundays. Then I work two 2.5 hour shifts throughout the week. They want me full time during the summer.

My second job is a work study job that pays for my tuition. Because I have enough financial aid, I pocket this money. I work about 10 hours a week with them. It's pretty easy and, because it is a coffee shop, I get free drinks.

My third job is with a caregiver agency. I only work PRN with them, which means about 15 hours/month. I usually work with one client doing respite care while the family goes out.
