How much is your pay?

Published

I'm just curious...

Salaries varies from state to state, as well as the years of experience, and the area of specialty, right? How much is your pay per month? :heartbeat :nurse: :heartbeat

19.09/hr Humansville, Mo. LPN 15 yrs,. I stopped working overtime d/t health and NM.

I'm a dental hygienist. At my main job I get $36 an hour with medical, dental, and ~4 weeks equivalent of paid time off and 6% retirement match.

If we make our production goal we get anywhere from $0.50-$5.00 an hour bonus depending on how much we produce.

I work "fill-in" for another office and get $40 an hour, no bennies.

When I temp thru an agency I get anywhere from $38-$45 an hour.

There is no such thing as overtime...it's hard to even get the required minimum 32 hours to remain eligible for benefits. But, no weekends, nights or holidays...EVER!:nuke:

I made $66,000 last year averaging 33 hours a week. I have 4 years experience.

This is in Portland, OR area.

New grad RNs here make around $28 base wage in the hospitals from what I can tell. I'm definitely nervous about the pay-cut I will be taking, but I REALLY want to be a nurse. :nurse:

IMO, most nurses just don't make enough money for all that they do. Hopefully, open communication about salaries can change that in the future. Good thread! Thanks everyone for sharing! :wink2:

Im an RN with almost 2.5 yrs as a RN and 4.5yrs as a LPN. Moving to Houston from OKC, making $5,600 per month in Houston as compared to $3,200 in OKC. My employer also has a good benefit package I will be going back to school and they will foot the whole bill without a payback time commitment. My job is also within walking distance from my apt so I will be saving lots on gas. I will also recieve $2,500 for moving expenses.

Texas also has no state taxes as compared to Oklahoma which is about 8%

hello well $3,000 a month is that good enough in USA? or $32 per hour over there?

New grads make $18.50/hr. in St. Louis, MO area. You can get a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home in a good school district for approx. 200-250k, depending on the part of town. This base salary is appalling, in my opinion. I can't believe some of the salaries on here. So much higher than what I will be looking at after graduation.

I also live in Missouri (about an hour south of St Louis) I've been a nurse for 20 years and will be graduating as an FNP in about a year and I'll probably make $35 an hour tops. It's depressing.

Wow! That seems low for an NP! What is the living wage like in your area? $35/hr in your area may be the equivalent to $65/hr in my area, I live in Boston which has a high cost of breathing!(I have been a nurse for 1 year and make $36/hr). The cost of living does factor in to what you make and can actually live on.

Specializes in Gyn Onc, OB, L&D, HH/Hospice/Palliative.

39.55/hr base pay hospital w/20 years exper, 36/hr home hospice new hire--northeast

Specializes in ICU, CCU, Travel Nursing.

2.5 years ICU experience as an RN in Southwest Missouri. My primary job is about $27/hr, provides benefits and such. I only work there 2 days/wk.

I also do per diem shifts. $35/hr with no benefits.

We have several nursing schools in the area and the cost of living isn't terrible. Id still like to make more $$$ for what I do....

Why does Oregon pay so low for RNs? I looked there hoping to relocate, but I would make about half what I do in NorCal. But, I see other jobs are equivalent to NorCal. Some other medical jobs pay well, like NP, OT, PT. Computer jobs pay well. I have just come to the conclusion RNs are not in great demand in Oregon. Washington does pay better, and you are not to far!

I'm a new RN and I make 22.00/hr working in N Dakota but I live in a small town in Minnesota. I could probably make more, but I work in Psych and love :heartbeatmy job and love where I work, so the money isn't relly my priority. Besides, if I make too much it will mean I have to pay more in taxes. Who wants to do that?!!! :no:Oh, and my employer pays my student loan payments while I'm employed with them, so that's worth at least 2.00/hr more and since I don't have to deal with the worry of making that payment every month, I bought a new car. :yeah: I think you have to consider the whole package, but most of all, be happy with your job.:)

Specializes in CTICU, Interventional Cardiology, CCU.

I work at an inner-city hosp. in Newark,NJ. I make $33-34/hr as a staff RN on night shift. That's with my shift differential. On some days for OT I am offered a bonus or double bonus of up to $450 on top of OT pay, if staffing is low..but for all the BS I put up with at work sometimes the bonus isn't worth..espically if I just did 3 in a row and it's my day off, finally..heck no I am not comming in I need sleep and a break from that place, let's see maybe if u offered me a $1000 bonus in cash upfront, and a decent patient load, no complete's, no call bell bangers, dinnner, a break,no admissions and a promise i would get out before 8am....but we all know that never happenes when you agree to work OT it's always the worst shift ever..hahaha

Hi there!

New grad in MA..major teaching hospital..27.75/hr with $7 nights, $5 for evenings, and $4 for weekends. Always time and a half for holidays.

I take about $4,440 BEFORE taxes and my rent is pretty steep so it makes it about even. And I already have over 4 weeks of vacation and I've been at my place of employment for less than a year.
