Hello everyone, I just got accepted into Norther Arizona University's online RN to BSN program. I am out of state, so my out of state tuition may be up to $19,410. I was wondering if I should settle with this or look into other programs.
So, how much did you pay for your education; did you pay out of state tuition? Can the classes fit for a full time worker? Tell us about your program!
I paid $3500 for my RN to BSN through WGU. I finished the program in six months which was the equivalent of one term at the university.
Ditto. Also did the MSN in two terms for $7k (minus tuition reimbursement it cost me $5k out of pocket) And to the PP who asked how- I busted my sizeable butt- worked on school, worked my PICU job, showered and slept - lather, rinse repeat.
All I did was work full-time and do schoolwork afterward. I spent time in school work 3 to 4 hours a day, seven days a week. Since courses are competency based, if I had knowledge in a particular course, I'd skip the course of study and go straight to the performance or objective assessment. I was able to accelerate quickly through the program by taking the preassessment, studying my weak areas, then taking the real assessment. Hope this helps answer your question!
I did WGU as well. $3500 total. Start to finish took 13 weeks total. I was pregnant at the time and was maybe 2 weeks into the program when I was put on bedrest at 28 weeks, so I did school work 7-5 Mon-Fri to finish before the baby came. It was gruelling, but worth it. I finished a year ago, so before changes, but I still can't imagine it not being doable in 6-12 months as long as you work on it a little each day.
