How much do you make? Feeling under paid :(

I was curious to know what type of nursing you all do and what it pays in your area? I've been looking at other positions (home health, hospitals, and doctors offices) but I don't know what fair pay is. Several of the home health agencies by me pay $15/hr with no benefits!

i'm an RN, but at the hospital where I still work per diem (i work Ft as a school nurse now), FT and PT LPNs are started at $15/hour day shift then $1-1.5 more for shift differentials. I think $18/hr for per diem. And they forice LPNs to float down to be CNAs all the time (still paid as lpn's) but I think that's so degrading, like what did they go to school for?

RNs start at $22.50 for day shift, plus shift differentials. $25/hr for per diem RNs plus SD's. I make $26/hour when working 2 evenings a month as an RN. I could get paid more elsewhere but staying here until after i have my baby.

I am in western NY state and everyone is underpaid around here, and high cost of living, so it's not that lucrative of a profession.

I just want to cry reading some of these salaries!! I live in Wisconsin and have been a LPN for over ten years... When I started out I was making about $14/hr, did a short stint as an angency nurse making $27+/hr, before I moved five years ago I was at a lil over $18/hr. the area I'm in now has super low wages! The facility I worked at would not match my pay, they didn't have a pay scale that was based on your experience, there was one starting wage regardless of whether you were a new nurse or had been one for 10 years! I was there for 5 years, when I left last month I was making $17.92/hr, so I took a huge paycut when I moved.. Sadly I had the same base wage as LPNs that were hired two years after me and had 8 years less experience!!!

Wth. You can not be serious. I made more than that as a rehab aide.

Sadly, yes, I am serious. I've joked to my husband that I might switch to flipping burgers if they ever do end up with that $15/hr. What really gets me is that I just moved here from PA, where I could've made ALOT more, and the cost of living down here is actually higher. Nothing I can do at this point but work on getting my RN and hope hubby gets stationed somewhere else where I can get a decent paycheck .

I've been an LPN since Nov 2011. I work at a doctors office in Dayton Ohio and make 16.00. It's Monday-Friday 8-5 with holidays off. I've been looking in to others career opportunities where I can use my skills more and obviously make more $$. I do feel blessed to have a full time job though in this economy :)

They don't even hire LPN's in the hospital setting around here

Oh wow, I hope you've got your flame resistant scrubs on!!! Where I work they dump tons of stuff on NOC's, day shift definitely does not do more work here. I'd say feel free to take a night spot, I'm sure there are plenty that would love to come to days

I live in the Orlando area. I've been an LPN for 10 months. I work at an area hospital and I make approximately $19 incl differential. I am full time and receive benefits. I also work agency 1 day per week.

I live in Seattle, WA and make $18/hr. ($19/hr. on weekends) as a new grad in home health. As for benefits, I have to work at least 30 hrs/week to get them, so they are available, I just don't work that many hours per week. There are some benefits for a part time employee such as myself (e.g. discount off cell phone), and the company I work for pays 50% of continuing ed, CPR classes, etc.
