How many tries did it take you to get in to Nursing school?

I got rejected twice, I keep retaking and taking additional classes. I was finally accepted for fall 2012 on my third application. I have a GPA of 3.0.. keep at it!

I got all Bs in my pre-reqs except for a C in Micro but had a 3.4 cumulative and paid work experience among other things when I applied and got accepted to nursing school. I was on a wait list for an ADN program but also applied to 4 different BSN programs and was rejected by each one. Decided to pursue a non nursing degree while on the wait list and was able to graduate. Due to irresponsibility, my application was withdrawn from the wait list because I hadn't taken the TEAS V by a certain date (took TEAS 4.0 in 2009 and signed a form saying I'd take the TEAS V). I took the TEAS V and did well then reapplied to a local BSN program. Initially they denied me but a spot opened up when an accepted candidate chose another program, I'll be starting school in less than a month! Keep your head up and don't give up!

I had to apply to multiple programs to get a bite despite a decent GPA at the time. I had one school accept me, but not as a nursing student and try to sell me on a completely different major as if any healthcare related degree would fit the bill. I kept getting rejections in the mail and my school of choice rejected me which was the hardest of all, but in the end I came back with 2 acceptance letters, but only one real option since the one program was about to lose accreditation and I didn't know that when I had applied. It turned out ok as I love my current school (just not the cost). Keep trying and don't limit your choices.

Fortunately I got into all the schools I applied to my first time (1 ADN, 2 BSN). I was prepared to keep applying though if I didn't get in.

Thanks guys. I try not to get discouraged by everyone else getting in right away, and I know if I keep trying good things will eventually come... even if it takes me a lot longer!

I got rejected and got the school to reconsider my application after completing some pre-reqs. Applied for fall, will try again for spring. Maybe you don't have I wait a whole year.

If you have your mind set, apply, apply until they have to let you in!!

I applied to a Nursing school where I will receive my BSN about a month ago and received my acceptance letter this weekend. I'm pretty stoked but was prepared to apply to multiple schools multiple times.

I had Bs on Bio and A- in Chemistry, have a 3.5 GPA BUT I had 65 on my TEAS and still was put on a waiting list and when I was ready to reapply for the TEAS and Nursing Program, got a called I was accepted and it was a race to get everything done! now two wks and I will have my orientation...Good Luck and keep being persistent!!! You can do it!!!
