  1. found this offensive, someone has to start somewhere, at one point some oldies looked like this at one point and not every single nurse is "baby"...I have a 47 yr old in my class and Im 37..so economy issues, flexibility issues what forced us to change winds...
  2. Scratch that, its in the NY, NJ or/and surrounding areas
  3. also just like in Computers which people no longer accepting Associates much in the computer world, more BSN...I thought that it is mandatory by law to get a BSN in Nursing and you have a 10 yr window to do that...I was told this..after getting my feet wet in anything I could grab, I'm planning to go on University of Phoenix Online to get my BSN there
  4. not for nothing this is everywhere, it happen in the school system where I used to be a lunch lady..all those women that were working in this town were fired, working 20 semi yrs or more..making 25-28 or up to 30 dollars an hr and privatize all the cafeterias and hired some of the ladies back BUT 12 bucks an hr or some 9 dollars an hr again....in the Computer Business is happening too my husband has a BSN but might be thinking getting Masters since he needs to keep up with the trend..he has seen older people getting let go and given a severance package..one recent one to an older gentleman in his late 50s, he only got a month worth and he didn't take it =( and this is the Federal Reserve!!!! so I see that is not only in the Nursing Field but everywhere else...higher pay is one of them I say
  5. I had Bs on Bio and A- in Chemistry, have a 3.5 GPA BUT I had 65 on my TEAS and still was put on a waiting list and when I was ready to reapply for the TEAS and Nursing Program, got a called I was accepted and it was a race to get everything done! now two wks and I will have my orientation...Good Luck and keep being persistent!!! You can do it!!!
  6. Very Interesting and Thank God my Husband has Chest hairs LOL...
