i will be attending UAMS in little rock, arkansas and last year they accepted 140 students and this year...205:banghead: i mean...this is the most they have EVER accepted so i'm getting really really nervous...anyone else out there????
UT Houston had around 1300 total applicants and 40 were accepted for the Accelerated BSN program and 160 (I think) for the traditional BSN program.
i am a 53 year old displaced worker from a foctory(for 28 years) and also a cna who is finally getting a chance to go back to school to become a lpn. at our college here in heber springs,ar , asu, they opened up a brand new class for 20 students ( i think around 150 applied) and i got aceepted. to anyone thinking on going onto nursing, getting your cna license first is a must.:wink2:
Here in the Sacramento area there are a few programs.
American River College takes up to 60 with 800 applicants
Sacramento City College takes 30 with 700 applicants
Sierra College takes 30 with 500 applicants
All of these are ADN programs that are Lotto.
Sacramento State takes about 70 with 500 applicants for the BSN program
This is on a points based system
... Can you tell why I have applied now for 4 semesters and still have not been accepted!
Stiff competition!
I am the last class to be in the program that is 6 semesters which students were only selected in the spring and started in the fall (the classes below us changed to 5 semesters and accpt students in the fall and spring) and we started with 44 students (down to 22 but not because of failing...one girl's husband got transfered for work, another girl got pregnant and took time off, and one guy decited that nursing was not for him--and we gained a girl last semester that took time off from the class above us to get mroe expereince...ie work as a CNA) the classes below us accept 30 students per class.
