How many programs and semesters did you apply for before finally being accepted? What was your GPA/ TEAS score?

I haven't applied yet but watching this thread. I am freaking out about not getting accepted when I apply at the end of the year. I am just about to graduate with my undergraduate degree and will apply to an accelerated program. My GPA in my final year is a 3.7 and my final year average is an 84%. My GPA in my final 2 years is a 3.65 with an average of 82-83%. Some schools look at final year and others look at final 2 years. Some schools also look at experience and I have TONS of hospital, clinical, and research experience. Ahh I hope to get in my first time around!!! I kinda wanna get started on this goal asap lol.

I'm from Canada so we don't have TEAS or any of the entrance tests you guys mentioned.

Applied to 1 competitive program 1 time. I start end of August!

GPA 3.8, Teas 87%

Woah 94? Bomb.

Specializes in Perioperative / RN Circulator.

Applied to 3 programs this spring.

ADN at local community college - very competitive. Some years nobody under 3.8 GPA gets in. My cumulative GPA for all college work is only around 2.5 so I was taking a flyer even with 99%tile NLN-PAX score. They have a very strict ranking system and with my low GPA having a BA didn't help. Also I couldn't take advantage of their grade recalculation option since I have a (mostly economically useless) degree from 25 years ago... You can tell I'm a little jaded or bitter on this. Declined.

LPN program at same community college. Relies heavily on ACT scores. Mine was 29. Accepted and initially took a place for next fall. This was my backup with intention to get my LPN and bridge into an ADN program. Later surrendered this position

ADN program at satellite campus of a regional university / 45 minutes from home. This program looks at ACT or HESI, GPA 2.0+, GPA in prereqs 3.0+ My prereq GPA is 3.14 - still not great but good enough plus good ACT and I got conditional admit pending C or better in A&P II. Admitted and registered for Fall. It's an ACEN accredited program with 1st time NCLEX-RN pass rates only a few points lower than the super competitive program that declined me. Of course it's also a 45 min commute and tuition is 2x expensive, which are big reasons the other program gets so many applicants and can be so strict about who they admit.

Specializes in Emergency Department.

Applied to three ADN programs while taking additional pre-reqs for additional programs. Got into one, waiting on other two (though I will most likely go to the first one). This was the first semester applying.

GPA for pre-reqs: 3.6

TEAS: 97
