How many of you scored >900 on HESI, didn't pass NCLEX the first time

want to find out if HESI is really like it says a good predictor of passing NCLEX

In my school we were only required to take it once and what we scored was 10% of our final overall grade. But it sounds like a lot of other people had it different for the HESI

if not for this forum, i'd never have even heard of the hesi test :). i did pass nclex in 75 questions though :).

We had 2 chances to pass the HESI exit exam, the required score is 870. if doesn't pass with >870 the second time, we have to retake the second year of nursing.

how many hesi tests are there? i made 856 and have to retake.

Wow, there seems to be a big difference in schools and their views on the HESI. With us, it was HESI on Friday, Finals on the following Tuesday.

A score of 900 or greater is required in order to graduate. It's not part of the grade, just pass/fail, with 900 being passing. But I think you get more than one chance on the HESI.

Then again, standard grade scales here say 79.4 is an "F" on any test or class, so the HESI was a welcome relief! LOL.

5 days till NCLEX and no finger nails left...

I'll be rooting you on. I take the HESI review class next week and then the exit HESI on the 12th. We must score 900 for our letters to be sent to the BON. What did you think of the HESI compared to Nclex? Hope to take Nclex end of the month.Keep me posted and let me know how it turns out. I'll keep you in my prayers!

I think the HESI was harder than the NCLEX. I also had to score 900 or better to graduate. I passed the NCLEX w/75....it was just not that hard. This may have also been due to the fact that in KY we had to doan additional 120 hrs of clinical time after we graduate...before we can take the NCLEX. I thought the HESI was a killer! Have not taken HESI, did the NCLEX on friday 13th, computer shut off on 77...I too did Kaplan Review and passed the "readiness test" with" obove boarderline?" and Qbank questions ( the analysis and application) with 65-67% and Kaplan says go take the test I did, and I feel like I did not pass it????? I also did some Lippincott tests and did 85-88% so I felt I was ready, with all of that and having completed over 2300 Qbank questions I was hoping for a good feeling. I am so down, I didnt even tell my co workers I tested, and now how can I say I failed ( 2nd time)..... So how did you do with the NCLEX??? and how many questions did you get? Bellaluna:rolleyes:

Was the Hesi harder than the NClex-RN. Does anyone have any study tips for the HESI.

haven't taken boards yet, just finished passing hesi. a lot of my classmates

have and say that boards is much easier than hesi. most finished with only 75 questions.

tips:

get the hesi review book read the entire book and reread anything that you struggle with. i've noticed that the exam is big on advanced clinical concepts (questions are worth more points), ob, psych and any diseases that effects the respiratory system and also musculoskeletal. make sure

you know your labs and pay close attention to the hesi hints

I took the exit HESI the first time and got a 621 the second time I got a 999, I failed the NCLEX Rn the first time so I beginning to wonder about passing the NCLEX.

is the HESI the determinant in passing the NCLEX examination?
