How many of you scored >900 on HESI, didn't pass NCLEX the first time

want to find out if HESI is really like it says a good predictor of passing NCLEX

i find NCLEX harder than HESI. i got 945 in HESI. But im not sure if i'll pass the NCLEX, my computer stopped after 146. im still waiting for my NCLEX result.

I got a 938 on the HESI, I went into it without studying and I was impatient with it, I took it in 70 minutes, we didn't have to pass it to graduate so I didn't care if I passed or failed.

I took the NCLEX 2 days ago, 75 questions in an hour and I found out today that I passed. My NCLEX was much harder than my HESI. The NCLEX isn't an objective test, it is geared towards the person taking it's test taking abilities. Some people may have an easier NCLEX than HESI, but others don't. My NCLEX was way harder than my HESI, I had 6-7 select all that apply questions on the NCLEX and none on the HESI.

BTW, I just received the result today and I passed.

Congratulations!

Can anybody tell me what exactly HESI is?I am a foreign nurse and I am looking for something good to read to pass the NCLEX-RN...I failed twice and I am really confused...:eek:Thanks for your help.

I hope you passed.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

I would seriously consider Suzanne's plan. HESI is something that is used by some US nursing schools

You raise a good, good question that is on everyone's mind. There are people who did so-so on Hesi, below its standards, and still breezed through nclex with 75 questions.

I take nclex in the morning and I hate to hear that all of these accomplished test takers are still feeling like they guessed!!!!!!! At this point, it just sounds so awful, that I just want it overwith. Nothing about it sounds reasonable or fair but it's some hell people have to put themselves through and "hope" for a passing score. Like hesi!

Hesi had freebie points though - questions from the cd.

I just don't get "any" of this measurement but if the nclex score is as gracious to me as Hesi was on both times I took it, it should go well.

Gosh, people, I just don't want to take this test tomorrow. I will never put myself through any more school after this if it requires another test like this. Never. This is horrible to sit here and feel this. I'm so sick of studying but I keep thinking I should keep trying to memorize all the SATA's I see. Then part of me knows I'll never get any of those right.

After passing NCLEX in 75 questions, I definately think the NCLEX measures critical thinking more. My test questions were significantly, significantly harder on NCLEX overall. The prioritization questions are challenging but really a good way to get inside the test taker's head - you know, throwing out conditions and scenarios and saying "which one gets seen first". It really measures what you know of the total picture of the patient and disease process. Don't expect such easy "memorization" type questions. It seems like it's assumed that you know all these nclex prep books - but can you apply it?

Definately practice the prioritization questions because they provide you with the same review of the conditions in terms of rationales but also raise your critical thinking abilities. You need to build confidence with these types of questions or you will struggle more on NCLEX.

7 days ago I tested and I got my certificate and paperwork in the mail today. Very speedy. Ohio is backed up with giving ATT's to people but they are very speedy in this latter aspect. I'm just glad it's over. I used to think I'd do a master's program but I don't know - the testing was so stressful. And every time a classmate tests, I get anxious again as if I'm reliving it. I'll be glad when everyone's done in my class and we can all relax!!!!!!! When it's all said and done, I'm glad to have had Hesi. So far the predictability model is proving to be true but we'll see as the rest of the class tests. Don't be so anxious to get an ATT - that will come - instead, be studying every single day.
