  1. Sounds like you will be okay but don't take getting a high score on HESI for granted NCLEX is just as hard. Maybe at this point just doing questions is maybe all you need. Saunders is great for boards. Ps. Don't get freaked out just come up with your own study plan. Best Wishes,
  2. I think you should do practice questions in all areas. My experience was that I studied my weak areas and they weren't on the test. Try not to do anything the day b4. Best Wishes!!!
  3. Isn't it the best feeling! I was home alone when I checked this morning my results. I shouted and screamed praising God for a while then started making my phone calls. Going out to celebrate this evening. Congrats to all the new RN's!
  4. Hi, r u sure you have to wait until Monday? I am also in IL and I got my results in 48hrs. I took it on 2/13 got my results at 9 this morning. Best Wishes.
  5. CONGRATS.................. Got my results this morning. Passed!!!! I was on my knees thanking God. Regardless of how many questions you get you really don't know how you did. I had 90 and I was so glad for that because I was so anxious that I don't think I could have made it through. Best Wishes to those of you taking it soon.
  6. I wish that by the time we get home from taking boards we can get our results. It was the hardest 48hrs ever. I tried to stay as busy as I could but every thought was filled with "what if's". But it was worth it to see that I passed this morning! I passed with no more than 90 questions.
  7. I think people should know that HESI is difficult so that they can practice thier critical thinking skills. I agree that sometimes we make it worst by getting freaked out. But when your future as a nurse is based on an exam that a lot of schools lack in preparing sometimes you just can't help but to worry. but when it is time to take that test try your best to leave the worries and anxiety outside that testing center. those of you who will be taking the exam this is good advice but you should also include answering as many questions as possible and reviewing and understanding all the rationales.
  8. Yeah, I was born and raised here and I love it. There is always fun things to do here. I think about relocating to places like Dallas & Las Vegas though. Best wishes on your HESI exam!
  9. Please don't call yourself a loser. If you feel defeated then that is exactly what will happen. HESI is just a test! It took me taking that exam four times before I realized it. You must pray and ask that God remove your fear so that you can study effectively and so that you can sit and take the exam w/o anxiety, it will make all the difference. Before I took HESI the first two times I didn't get a chance to really study because it was nine days before graduation and we were still taking finals, writing care plans, etc... When I took it the 3rd time I had an anxiety attack. But on the 4th and final try I really studied but I didn't over do it. When I finally passed HESI I felt as if the weight of the world was lifted off my shoulders. It can be done. What I realized after taking it four times is that the questions that are worth the most points is the following: Adv clinical concepts (ie, d-fib vs cardioversion, cpr) Med-surg(resp & cardiac diseases) OB The is a lot of delegation questions but not sure if those are worth a lot. Some say math is worth a lot but I really don't think so. Know that hesi review book and break up your time to do questions the more you practice with exam questions the better you'll get. I also used Saunder's Comprehensive Review book. I didn't use it until I was preparing for it the exam for the fourth time. So that should say how good the book is. Please PM if you have any other questions. I visit this site often looking for those of you seeking advice about this test because I don't want people going through what me and my classmates went through with HESI. Best Wishes.
  10. You can do it. Just try not to freak out over it, that was my problem. Not only study the HESI book, know it!!! including the HESI hints. It will make all the difference. Try to break up your reading time to do questions. We need a 900, here were my scores: 721, 835, 859, 997. My school did little to prepare us and we didn't see any form a real hesi exam until a week before graduation. Adv clinical concepts (Cardioversion vs D-Fib), leadership, OB & Med-Surg (resp & cardiac) are worth a lot of points. I will keep you in my prayers.
  11. Our you taking a comprehensive HESI exam? If so, you need to read the HESI book you have. Focus on MEd-Surg, Adv Clinical Concepts, OB, Psych and know the HESI hints. Med-Surg & Adv Clinical is huge on HESI the harder the question the more points you will get for it. Do as many practice exam questions as you can trying to get a good score like 83% on each and try not to use too many review books. I recommend Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX. Best Wishes
  12. Hi, it depends on your school if that requirement is true, you should check on that because every school that uses HESI use it in different ways. My school implemented HESI in 2001. We need to pass with 900 in order to graduate. So no matter how well you did in the program w/o that 900 we could not get our degree. Oh, we got 4 chances to pass.
  13. yes, it sounds like you are just venting because you have come to far to give up. your school is wrong to implement changes to a graduating class. i think the best advice is it is okay to vent but don't let it consume you. you have more important things to accomplish. try to let it go for now and advise the class behind you what happened to your class and maybe they can work things out so they won't experience the same thing. :mortarboard: Best Wishes!!!
  14. well we thought we would be okay like the classes before us. this year was the first time the exam was given on the internet . it is pretty hard if you don't have time to prepare for it. thank God we all eventually passed.
