Should I work for a year first or take additional chemistry
I just graduated by BSN program and got hired into the ICU. My nursing GPA is 3.0 and cumulative is 3.1. I think if I apply to enough schools I'll get in. Should I just take the ICU job and finish up the remaining classes and quite my job after 1-2 years working in the ICU. I am not the type who can work and go to school at the same time. Or should I not work and just continue with school and finished chemistry II, orgo, biochem, bio 2, physics I & II. My jobs makes me work crappy shifts so I can't work and take chem at the same time. I need advice.

Med school to CRNA
No offense but many people would kill to be were you are. I am graduating with a BSN with may and I'm interested in anesthesia. I just got a job in the ICU (1 year of critical care experience) for CRNA and I'm debating whether I should try to go to medical school. I still have to take the premed requirements that I didn't get in my nursing education. I think working as an RN would just slow me down if I want to go to medschool. Tough it out and your be an MD which is worth it.

Is organic chemistry required?
I'm seeing that some CRNA school are now requiring organic chemistry for admission. I only have a semster of chem for allied health (nursing chemistry) and inorganic chem I lab (premed chemistry). Is it to my advantage to take chem II and Orgo I & Orgo II? Would these courses help me in CRNA school or prepare me? I'm also seeing that Biochemistry is required or recommended by some schools.

Have you taken a HESI exam?
I am a senior nursing students and my teachers are speculating about giving us a HESi exam for our final. Will the CD with practice questions be the same questions that we will get on the final? Nobody bought the book yet because the teachers are "unsure" about whether we are taking the final. I have the book and the CD will the practice problems on the CD be the same as the HESI exam. I only found one book on HESI where would the teachers get their questions? Nursing PIMP

Does RN experience make NP school easier?
Does RN experience make NP school easier? Are there any NPs that worked as an RN for like 10 years and found NP school easy because of there extensive experience? I want to make it easy on myself.

NP before CRNA, or straight to CRNA?
I have read posts by NPs saying that NP school didn't help them out in CRNA school at all. Go for the CRNA and if you don't get in maybe some of the credits might transfer to the NP school. I think NP school is easier to get into because there are more schools. Financial speaking NP school is not worth it in my opinion.

How many NP programs are there in the US?
Does anyone know how many NP programs are there in the US? I know for CRNA its around 95.

Minumum GPA for NP programs
I have just finished my first semester of Nursing School at University of Miami with a 3.025 and my overall is around 3.1-3.2 and I'm worried I'm not goint to get into graduate school. I want to know if there are any graduate programs (NP or CRNA) out there that require a gpa lower than 3.0 and a GRE under 1000. I really wanted to go for CRNA but it looks like I'm not going to get in. I have seen other people how settled for NP instead of CRNA and regretted it. I just don't see the point in spending (3000/credit excluding financial aid) to raise my GPA and then I don't get in. Does anyone know if I could retake a class over a cheaper instituition and have it transfer. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS? Joe
