I will probably be at 1500 to 1700 by thursday when i take the exam. I have today, whats left of it, tomorrow, Monday (only about 100 question cause i work 12 hrs), Tuesday and Wed a.m. and thats when i stop! I take my exam on Thursday and i need to reset my mind by giving it a much needed rest from looking at questions so i can take the NCLEX with fresh eyes. :smokin: I think I'm going to watch a movie on wednesday to de-stress....I love going to the theater to watch movies. During nursing school i would watch a movie the night before really big exams...it was my de-stressor...never failed me.

it was always so funny when my classmates would ask how i studied the night before and I'd say...i didn't...i went to the late show...lol :D It was so relaxing and i came to class the next moring READY for the test! i'm going to do the same thing for NCLEX...not gonna change whats got me this far!!! Interestingly when i decided to go bck to school it was either Film school (FSUs film production program) or nursing school...lol. I picked nursing school cause it was more stable and i enjoy healthcare, It just makes me feel good. But once i start wokring i'm going to buy myself a nice amateur movie camera and make it my hobby. I plan on taking a script writing class as well. lol Now back to more pressing matters...lemme go check fandango to see what will be playing this week ;)

Ha Mex. I wanted to review movies (or be in them) I have netflix to watch lots of movies. I wanted for a while to make a blog and review movies and become known enough to have tv people call me to go to premieres and review movies...but I do not have time to do stuff like that for free :)

I just did like 180 questions on Kaplan CD and I scored 66%,is that bad?:o I feel so completely dumb, those questions are so freaking hard I swear,a lot of those questions about different types of tractions (I hate those get them confused all the time. Also definitely the questioned are stated so weird,I score better on Saunders tests (like 76%)

I'm studying a lot too. I'm doing 100 questions a day. I did that Saunders assessment calendar with the 4th edition. I'm following the calendar by doing 100 questions for each chapter and reviewing the rationales. I was reviewing content after I graduated in May 16 but it was too much for me and I feel I wasn't retaining information well.

I was spending way too much time studying each day everyday: Wake up around 9am, begin reading a chapter, doing end of chapter questions and reviewing rationales, taking 10-15 breaks in between. Then try to do another chapter as the calendar says to. I wouldn't finish until 5-7pm if I'm studying straight through and I'm trying to skim the content as fast as I can too! With this, my mind/body could only handle 50 questions/reviewing rationales at most. So I STOPPED this, my head was fatigued and hurting by the end of the day from too much studying in one period/day and I figured it wouldn't be healthy for me to do this for 1-3 months.

I asked around for studying tips from my friends who graduated before me and took the NCLEX and passed the first time. Some took Kaplan, some didn't. They all said, you can review a lot by doing 100 questions a day in each chapter/topic from the Saunder's review book CD and reading the rationales. I've even heard that the Saunder's Q&A book/CD is a bit more difficult questions, but is also an excellent book to do questions and review rationales if you don't want to use the Saunders comprehensive review CD (easier to see font on the Q&A CD). Many of those who took the NCLEX said they didn't study for more than a 3 weeks-1month before their test date and during that time period, they were just doing questions after questions and reviewing rationales day after day.

My previous professor who taught our NCLEX review course at our University which was a credit course, said after I graduated and asked her for advice, 100 questions is a lot to do and 200+ questions in one day is too much for most people and it'll burn you out faster. She teaches Kaplan classes and so I guess she knows the strategies and recommended study methods.

So there, I've been doing 100questions a day for each chapter on the Saunders Q&A CD, following the assessment calendar from the Saunders comprehensive review, reading the specific content if I didn't know or understand, with reviewing rationales and thats it since last week. Its been easier on my brain and I could concentrate and retain more rationales and strategies. I plan to take my test in early July. By then I should have done about 4200-4900/5000 questions.

I did close to 6000 (really) we were required to do 3000 during practicum.

passed with 75 q's
