The average stats quoted are usually in the neighborhood of one anesthetic-related death in 250,000. Although it's a common concern in many patients, death from anesthesia is a very rare event. Death related to a surgical complication is much more common statistically, but still very low. In 26 years, I've never personally had a death related to anesthesia complications, although I've had several related to the surgery itself, with most of those in patients who were critically ill or injured to begin with.I am having a hysterectomy next month and am very worried about the anesthesia. I was wondering whats the chances of not living through it. I am 27 and have SVT and a few lsions on the brain due to ? migraines. Thanks
Discuss your concerns with your surgeon and anesthesia provider, and follow the anesthesia provider's pre-op instructions, particularly regarding any routine medications you may be taking.
BTW, migraines do not cause "lesions on the brain".

Sorry, but per TOS on allnurses.com the anesthesia providers on this site can't give medical advice. It does sound as though you have different variables that could affect your plan of anesthesia.
