How many NCLEX questions did you do prior to sitting for the boards? Did you pass/fail? Did you take a review course?

I think I did just over 4000 with rationales in the space of 5 weeks. I downloaded CD questions onto my computer. I didn't look at, or buy any NCLEX review book. I did look at my class notes for a few hours a day for 3 days or so before taking the NCLEX. Review books can be a waste of money for some people. Passed with 75 questions in one hour.

Im also preparing for my NCLEX-RN exams before the year ends. Im doing Hurst review online, Saunders Q&A and PDA book. I hope I can make it this time because this is my third time. :crying2:

Hey I am pretty sure i failed my NCLEX RN and i live in the state of Virginia and I was wondering if i had to wait 90 days or 45 days to retake???

I did about 4000 questions, between the Kaplan online class, NCLEX 4000, Saunders, and Exam Cram (which stunk, btw). I tested this morning, had 75 questions. I can honestly say that nothing I did seemed relevant while I was testing...

LOL! I have a feeling I am going to feel the same way in approx. 11 hours! Oh well, I figure at this point...it is what it is, I know what I know. And there is one thing I am positive about I AM competent enough to begin practice as a registered nurse (I convinced myself of this while spending the day [by myself] at the hotel I am staying at). I wish you the best of luck MOMOF, did you get the good pop up?

I did between 4,000-5,000 questions, only because by the end I was doing 300 a day. I liked doing questions rather than pure studying because it wasn't stressful, I learned something and I felt it really prepared me to take the test. When I got to the actual nclex I clicked through the questions just like I did at home during my practice questions and halfway through I thought "oh gosh, this is the real thing! I forgot!" (Of course I didn't really FORGET but it felt natural to be clicking through the questions).

I took Kaplan and read/did questions from the Prentice Hall Nclex review book (this book also came with a CD with over 5000 questions).

I had 75 questions and passed the first time :)

Good luck everyone.:redbeathe

When preparing for the NCLEX-RN a few months ago, I probably answered about 500 NCLEX-style questions prior to sitting for the boards. I passed on the first attempt with 75 questions. I took two live review courses: Kaplan was paid for by the nursing program that I attended, while I paid to attend a live Hurst review out of state.

I also took the NCLEX-PN back in late 2005, took no review course, studied about 1,500 NCLEX-style questions, and passed on the first attempt with the minimum of 85 questions.

To everyone replying to this thread:

I took the NCLEX-RN this morning and the computer shut off at 75 and I JUST got the "good" pop-up.

The exam took me approx. 1 hour (not including the time I used to take the tutorial).

There were 12 SATA.

There were MANY infection control (Study MYCHICKENHAZTB, SPIDERMAN, and MRS. WEE you'll find it incredibly helpful)

There were MANY prioritization (LaCharity is INVALUABLE!)

I did approx. 1650 review questions from KAPLAN 2010 STRAGEDIES, EXAM CRAM, LACHARITY, AND DAVIS.

I want to have faith in the PVT but, Im still skeptical (although the success of others) I cant WAIT until FRIDAY!

I test Tuesday... just looking for last minute helpful info. What do "mychickenhaztb, superman, and Mrs. Wee" stand for???

Thanks!!!

Took Kaplan. Probably did 5000 questions. 75 questions, finished in 30 minutes, passed first try.

Took the test yesterday (1st time taker), shut off at 75, tried the PVT, good-pop, still waiting 4 official results, here was how i studied.

Answered questions from Davis 2010 bk, Kaplan strategy bk, LaCharity, did a few questions from Exam Cram and used Sanders for content review then looked thru allnurses.com website everyday...lol...seriously this website helped me

i studied for about 3wks, did about 2,500 questions

I did 2884 questions.
