I drive 30 miles to work one way-For a total of 60 miles. With the rising costs of gas, how far is too far to drive and how many total miles do you drive each day?

I drive 18 miles one way. It's mostly highway driving and takes about 20-25 minutes.
My nursing school is attached to the facility at which I work; the other facility owned by the organization is about a 10 minute drive from where I work but they provide bus service between the 2 sites so getting to and from for clinicals isn't terrible (I can drive myself or allow for a little extra time and take the bus).

I drive around 55 miles round trip. I work between 1-5 days a week. I don't like that it's that far but it's a pretty drive at least. I gave my Durango to my hubby since his job is closer, plus he gets a govt. vehicle to drive all day. I got an SUV with a smaller engine so now I get better mileage.

Well I don't do it every day, but I drive 178 miles to work. Stay there for 3 days then head home.
I seriously considered that very same option when I graduated in 1992 and jobs for new grads were scarce! (in Portland, OR) luckily I had been working as a student nurse extern at a local level 1 trauma center in the float pool and my wonderful boss took pity and hired me in the float pool per diem. I sure was glad for that "foot in the door"!
Forgot to mention that now I drive about 4 miles round trip to work, and if it were not night shift I would probably ride an electric bike instead of drive.

I drive 55 miles each way to work. Right now, I have alot of freedom to come and go as I please. So, I leave before the commuter traffic starts. Once, I finish nursing school, I hope to get a job in the area

I'm retired now, but my commute (for 30 years) was 10 miles each way. I car-pooled whenever I could arrange it, and put the money I saved in a 403-b.

1.5 hrs each way. I am tired before I even get to work, so I can't wait to find something closer.

My commute is 27 miles one way. I like the time to unwind except on nights when I work 12hr shift.
