How many credits a semester?

Nursing Students General Students

I will be starting an ADN program in January and am wondering how many credits you have taken or are taking per semester. I will do A&P 1 and nursing pharmacology this fall and will need to fit in microbiology and A&PII in the next few semseter also.Planning to do A&PII as my only summer class next year. I am in the middle of a major life change and can get funding for school. I'm wondering if getting 12 credits a semester to be a full time student is going to be too much.

Classes in Jan. are nursing Fundimentals, nursing skills, nursing into. to clinical practice and Micro. this is 11 credits for the sem. I will be anywhere between 8-10 credits the other semesters. I will work part time and have 2 teenagers at home. What do you experienced people think and thanks for your help.

the most cedits I have taken in a semester was 16, now I try to keep it to 12-14 max. It was doable at 16 but rough. I have a 6 year old and my daughter was one at that time. I took A&P II, 2 Psych classes, doasge and calculations, pharmacology, and intro to health professions (WHEW!!) Last semester I was in the 2nd semester of my ADN and I took 10 credits nursing classes and 3 credits non nursing, I will do the same again this semester (trying to get my prereqs for my BSN done, I already have all my prereqs done for my ADN)

I start my program in August... Nursing Class/Clinical is 10 CH and I'm also taking Micro for a total of 14. Our dept. head said that the first semester is the best for taking the 'harder' co/pre-reqs. My first semester I took 17 CH, second I took 13 but two classes were fast-tracks at the same time. This summer I took 9 with one of those a fast-track.. I also have two kids, one is 2 and the other is 11..

It really depends on you and what you feel you can do.
