I want to get into Midwifrey but am currently practicing Mental Health. Would i have to go back and complete a 3 degree course.
Advice would be needed

I think so, i don't think there is a conversion any more but it's worth checking with your local university

Simple answer is yes, you have to go back and do the course. If you have a common foundation for the first 18 months you may be able to miss that as you should have done something similar in your training. As XB9S says, check with your local university.

I'm afraid the answer is actually no. To qualify for the 18 month shortened course one of the pre-requisites is that you hold the RN or RNA qualification on the NMC register, the common foundation aspect isn't enough so would have to undertake the 3 year course. You might be able to get some dispensation when it comes topics such as perinatal mental health which I believe is more often being taught as a seperate topic in midwifery education programmes but otherwise every other RMN I know that wanted to convert was told they had to do the 3 years course.
