Hi, I was wondering if any one could help me. I'm new here
how long is the average wait time to get into the LVN Program? I finished my pre-reqs for LVN last semester and did not get in so I decided to go ahead and take the pre-reqs for the RN program. I'll be talking Microbiology and physiology next sem and I'll be done with the pre-reqs for the RN program as well, but my friends have been telling me that it takes about two years to get into the program after you've comepleted the pre-reqs.
do you think that getting a degree from a career college such as bryman is a good option or should I stick with community colleges, until I get into the program???? please help , i'm really confused?

I attended an LVN program at a private trade school in '04 and '05 and there was no waiting list; however, the tuition was $20,000.

I am going to be attending a vocational LPN program and I have to wait a year to get in. However, that is only because the part time program starts only once a year and it was already full when I inquired.
Good luck.

It depends on your grades, the program, and your location.
I didn't wait at all when I applied, but still others in my class have waited three years.

The private schools that offer LPN programs are often VERY expensive, but have short waiting times. Vocational or technical schools are pretty cheap but often have pretty long waiting times. Before you decide on a school, make sure the school is accredited by the National League for Nursing and your state board. One of our private schools here tells potential students that they are accredited but they aren't. I am going the LPN route and then plan to do a LPN to BSN program. Good luck and keep doing your research!

I am enrolled in a tech college and the tuition is only about 500.00 a semester with 4 semesters. I applied in May and began classes in Aug.but I had origanally applied at a different tech college. When I took the entrance test I asked that they send my scores to all the tech. colleges within 30 miles and be put on the waiting list for all of them and I just went to the first school that had an openning. Talk to the student services office and see what options they offer. Private colleges are just to expensive personnally. One of my childhood friend is attending one and is in the same semester as myself and is having to pay aroyund 1400.00 a semester. HUGE difference explore your options before shelling out.
MAKES YOU WONDER HOW THERE COULD BE SUCH A HUGE NURSING SHORTAGE WHEN THERE IS ALWAYS SUCH A LONG WAITING LIST TO GET INTO A NURSING PROGRAM.
