I was just wondering how long everyone's LPN program is. I start my program in June 2010 and I think that it's going to be 18 months. Do you think that this is too long or not long enough for nursing school?
I don't see it as unfair to the shorter program. I'm glad my program is short, I know that it will be intense but it will be worth it when this time next year I will have my diploma and can begin apply to begin the RN program in its 2nd year.
It just helps me achieve my goals that much sooner.
Usually your state BON will mandate the number of hours of instruction needed. For instance my state requires 1350 hours, with the hours of my evening program that is 18 months, for the full time day students it is 11 months. But in the end we have all spent the same amount of time in school.
mine is two semesters, so that's around ten mnths i think. I'm not sure about the pre-requisites because I have my associates from another college and was 36 creds short of my BA in psychology when I decided to transfer to yet another college. So I already have a lot of the math and biology courses done as well as all english and psychology courses done. Very nervous because I know how much hard work its going to be!
