June-July-August!
The schedule can't be beat and the kids are pretty fun and cute most of the time. :)

I work in the district my kids attend...being on the same schedule can't be beat and my daughter is in my building. The staff is great. THe kids are adorable (K-3) most of the time. I like not having to worry about missing a Christmas morning.

I second what everyone else said! It makes me feel good to know when a student's life has changed for the better because of all of us in our school working together to make that happen. We have lots of low-income/poverty level in our school and there are so many needs. It makes my heart warm when I get a thank you note from a student telling me how much they love me for helping them feel better and all I can think is wow I didn't even really do anything except listen. I find the excitement from the kids on the first day of school, holidays, programs, etc fun too. It took me a while to get over not having adrenaline rushes from work in the hospital but at least I now get to smile a lot every day. :)

I'm new to the school setting (started August of this year).
So far, I love:
the schedule
having my own office
most of the kids (my regular medical-needs kids are all great, and many of my frequent flyers are, too).
I work walking distance from home (I used to drive in city traffic for up to an hour each way--- but I know that has nothing to do with school nursing)
I won't be working on Christmas, ever again!

For years when my kids were in school, it was perfect. I moved up from elementary to middle to high school roughly as they did.
I stayed at the high school level now that they are adults. It's a great job.

Can't beat the schedule! Especially coming from a rotating day/night 12 hour position! Summers off! Autonomy! Holiday off! Weekends and evenings off! Have I mentioned the schedule? :)
