How to keep shoes white?!?!

I have gone through 3 pairs of white Dansko's over the last 2 years because they get filthy and scuffed. I know if I get a darker color the scuffs wouldn't be as noticable, but I prefer white. Any suggestions on how to keep them white and clean? Any good shoe polishes out there or stain protectants?

You can try putting a good leather protectant on them as soon as you buy them...don't wait until you've worn them and they're getting scuffed.

Personally, I've always wiped mine down as soon as I get home and haven't had any problems with them staying nice looking.

I have white danskos and just use whatever cleaner I happen to have under my kitchen sink. 409, Pine Sol...any of 'em will do.

Just put some on a paper towel and scrub a dub! Works for me, haven't seen any damage to the shoes.

With the price of Danskos, I'd rather buy new ones for fun instead of white ones over and over!! :)

Well, dampen a cloth and put a teensy bit of Comet on it and genty work the scuffs and stuff out. Wipe them down. Then polish them with Sani-White.

I clean my shoes with Kiwi heavy duty cleaner then use Kiwi leather shoe whitener. Works for me!

I know of a nurse who has worn white shoes for the past 15 years. Her shoes stay white and look brand new.

What's her secret? She simply throws them in the washer with some laundry detergent and bleach, and washes them several times per week. The practice of laundering her shoes with bleach and soap keeps her shoes bright white, disinfected, and clean.

Alcohol wipes. The little 1 inch square things we use to clean patients skin before injection. About 6 of those and I can get 90% of the crud off of my shoes in about 5 minutes. Is not perfect, but it does a good job, and keeps them looking good.

i buy those clorox clean-ups...the little one-time-use wipes and have a roll in my car. I give them a quick swipe before i even get in. kills most of the germies and keeps them sparkly!

Wow - I was having the same problem and looking for thick white shoe polish (it's all runny) and 5 Alcohol prep pads did the trick....this will be my new post-conference cleaning routine! Thank you for all of the advice!

For crocs and similar rubber shoes, I toss mine in the dishwasher. They come out clean (and warm!).

I use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get the scuffs off my Dansko Marcel shoes. It doesn't harm the leather, and doesn't change the appearance at all. After I get the scuffs off, I wipe them down with a Clorox wipe to sanitize them.

What I would use is a leather dye (paint type) that can be bought at a shoe repair shop. It's a little kit with a bottle of deglazer and a bottle of paint. Much better than liquid shoe polish or any of that Kiwi stuff.
