I just wanted to post a quick unofficial Poll as to who you will be voting for in the US Election.

This thread was only intended to be a poll. Not a political discussion. Feel Free to reply with your choice if you want, but please no political arguments, slams or jabs :) Lets keep this a clean and simple poll ;)

I just thought that it would be interesting to find out where all the AN'ers fall and see if we are consistent with other polls out there?

I feel the same way... so, my plan is to go vote EARLY...like going to the poll station at 5:00am. I am already seeing issues going on with my son. He registered to vote 4 years ago, well within the right timeframe and then, when he went to the poll, had to throw in a provisional ballot. Registered again later the following year. Just this March, we both went to renew our non-driver IDs and he registered on the spot again. Checked on line to see if he was registered in September and he was not listed. Told him to register in school and we checked yet again in early October, not listed. Still not listed, now and he has to go to school tomorrow morning for an exam. I told him that maybe he should get up early with me to go, I'll pay a taxi to get him to class if the line is long, or when he is on his way home, to call me and I'll meet him at the polls. My son is a very introverted person that doesn't speak up or advocate for himself very often. I want to be sure that he at least fills out another provisional one. I am noticing alot of this happening in my neighborhood and workplace to recent registrars that wish to be listed as Democrats. I have a feeling that if many people are facing these issues on Election Day, there may be riots. This is why I want to go early so that I can then volunteer with my uncle to make calls.

Pagandiva,

Please contact the Our Vote people they are working very hard to make sure that everyone who is entitled to votes. They also say do not accept a provisional ballot if at all possible. Talk w/them to get help!

If you have any question about voting or need to report a problem, please call 866-OUR-VOTE. Trained volunteers will answer your questions and attempt to solve any problems.

I voted for Obama last week. He is the only candidate to claim health care is a human right as well as a responsiblity. I agree with that.

OBAMA! :yeah:

He might be our modern FDR

-and yes, I'm from Arizona. Nearly everyone I know is voting for Obama as well. I don't expect an Obama win here, but for a home state left with nearly no democratic campaigning, it might be a huge McCain embarrassment. The McCain Arizonans (I've always been a liberal who strongly disagrees with his abortion beliefs) loved no longer exists. He sold his 'maverick' soul to the Republican party in exchange to be a presidential puppet.

McCain.

I've liked him for a very long time--think he should've gotten the nomination in 2000.

People have been voting early here--5 hour wait @ Registrar of Voters office. I couldn't handle that, so will go to the local polling place tomorrow w/DS.

For those who chose not voting, is this because you can't (not a US citizen, or not of age)?

I can't think of any other reason why someone would not exercise their right. :uhoh21:

i'll be interested too - but i'm pretty sure from my time here on allnurses that most members lean left. (not starting a political discussion though:clown:)

thanks for the poll brian.

steph

i agee with brian that the general membership vote here won't be as skewed as it is in the political forum, where it's about 90% obama supporters. i predict it still will probably favor obama though. right now it's about 60/40.

early voting here wound up being the same way. a coworker waited four hours. that's obscene. hopefully it won't be that busy tomorrow when all the precincts are open. they are saying here in my precinct they expect an 85% turnout.
