How are you going to spend your Thanksgiving break?

Published

Yea! I'm out of school for a week!:D I'm officially beginning my 'break'. Today, I walked a few miles while socializing with some moms. Then I took my preschooler to lunch. It was great to spend some time with just him and myself. This evening I'm going to see my nieces at their high school football game. Can't wait to see my favorite cheerleader and trumpet players. I've got a couple of fun activities planned to do with my boys in the morning. My oldest son and I am super excited to go see harry potter this weekend. I'm going to have lunch with an old friend early next week. On Thanksgiving I'll see my extended family for dinner. On black Friday, I'll shop and watch my favorite football team play. Oh, and I'm going to try and actually see my husband more than just in passing :redbeathe Sounds like a lot right? But mostly I'll be spending the week trying to catch up on all my studying so I'll be ready for finals in few weeks. Yes even on Thanksgiving "break" I'll be doing a lot of chemistry calculations and trying to memorize muscles and the nervous system.Still I'm so excited and I'm already feeling myself relax a little. I might even get so relaxed, I take a few naps. :zzzzz

Are you going to study this week? What are your Thanksgiving plans?:hrnsmlys:

I am so relieved I have a few days where i don't have to think about school - and that's what I plan to do.. spend time with family, NOT think about school

I just have Thursday and Friday off :(. My stupid 15 year old sister gets the whole week off... lol

I'm going to (hopefully) get my butt back in the gym and also study for my finals in mid-December. But most likely I'll just be watching movies!

Two papers for Spanish and French, finishing data collection and analysis for a psych project (read: another paper), and studying for finals in two separate psych classes as well as A&P I.

Thanksgiving break isn't ever really a break haha. Although... the food is a plus :)

I plan on writing my 5-page English paper that is due when I get back from Thanksgiving break. Plus, read ahead in my biology textbook.

Wow! I'm amazed at how many have very little break! I've been loving my break so far. I have been to other schools where we always seemed to have a big test or paper due right after Thanksgiving, but luckily that's not the case this year. We didn't have a fall break but we got the whole week off for Thanksgiving. I forgot to say earlier that I'm also working on Potty training and moving my pre-schooler to a big bed this week. I still haven't done any studying yet, maybe tomorrow...probably not :D

Not much of a break here. Working on my last research paper for my English class, conference with my teacher tomorrow to critique the paper, then I will need to revise it. Then work on my take home A & P exam due next Tuesday. Yes, that's right, a take home exam!!

Well lets see...

I will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner, since my mom has been refusing to cook one for about 7 or 8 years. It's no big deal though, I love to cook. Also going to spend some time at my uncle's house.

Then I am going to spend sometime with my daughter :-)

And of course I have to spend sometime with my school books, they get really jealous! I have to keep up my good grades and get a little studying in on Saturday and Sunday. I completed some assignments on yesterday so I can get in some "me" time during the holidays. I will do some work during my break between classes tomorrow and then I am done with school work until Saturday...

Monday some people from my small community college anatomy class visited a big university with a Cadaver lab. We got a tour of their anatomy lab and a 2 hr lecture and cadaver study. It was so awesome! Tue and Wed I work all day. Thursday cooking dinner and eating :-) Friday & Sat I plan on deer hunting. Sunday I have no idea. However, in between work and play, I am studying for my last two lab practicals in anatomy and gearing up for my anatomy and physiology finals.

Loving this crazy thing we call life!

Well, I finished up finals on Monday and have 1.5 weeks until the next quarter starts, so I am going to relax and spend some time w/ my family. I, too, took my preschooler to lunch the other day! I enjoyed it so much! Sometimes I get so caught up in studying and running here and there I don't have much time left! That lunch date was the best thing that I have done in months. :) I will also be stewing over my application to nursing school. The deadline is December 1. Hopefully we will know something by the end of December. Without having to study or anything, my mind is stuck on that! Grrrrr. I am hoping they get acceptance/rejection letters out soon, because I am going crazy! LOL!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Enjoy!

Studing for my Microbiology final!

I hope everyone realizes once you become a nurse there is no such thing as a holiday break...or any type of break. I'm a CNA now in a hospital...don't have to work Thanksgiving day but do work Christmas day. Happy Holidays to all.
