My husband got tincture of Benzoin on his dress pants for work. I used pure acetone followed by spray-N-wash and it promptly came out. You should test a small area with the acetone to make sure it is okay on the fabric, which I did. Hope this helps :)
What about trying to get candle wax out of a pair of pants and a silky top? Any ideas?
Warm it in your hand until just a bit soft, and scrape off what you can, gently, according to the strength of the material, with a fingernail, wooden knife, tongue blade, or table knife, or whatever will get off as much as possible without tearing/stretching/scratching the material.
For delicates, heat gently (over a light bulb, perhaps) to melt the residue and blot, blot, blot the liquid up with paper towels. You can also layer a sandwich with a cloth towel-shirt-paper towel, with the cloth towel on top, and iron to heat. Change the paper towel as it becomes saturated. These will take you forever, but if you really like the shirt, it may be worth it. If there's a colored stain left that you just can't budge at the end of this process, the dry cleaner may be able to lift it with their solvents.
If the material will tolerate boiling water, stretch it over a bowl or something and pour the boiling water right through the wax residue. It will wash down into the bowl and congeal on the surface of the water in the bowl as it cools.
Ok... Now how do you get pen marks off of exam tables??? We are always trying new tricks trying to get those stubborn stains out. So far we have found that the Mr. Clean sponges seem to work the best.. They also are great to scrub off all of the dirt.. It's amazing how filthy those tables get.
Eucalyptus liquid soap we stock it on the ward. Or eucalyptus oil diluted would work.
