How fast did you land a job?

Published

I have a question. After graduating, how long until you got your very first nursing job?

I know you have to take the NCLEX and stuff, but from the date of graduation, how long did it take you?

I and a bunch of people from my cohort all had jobs prior to graduation

How were you able to get a job as a nurse when you haven't even done the NCLEX or graduation?

Wait, was it an RN job?

I have had a job offer since March, and I graduate Thursday. It is for an RN position. It is tentative on my passing school (which I did), and passing NCLEX ( have yet to do.).

I actually have a job offer too but it's not on a unit I want to start in because the environment is really more for experienced nurses.

I got a job off within 5days of my passing the NCLEX PN. I did not take the job. I had many job offers before I accepted my current position... I know I few people from the cohort after mine that had secured jobs before graduation too though. I chose not to apply to jobs until after I got licensed, because I didn't want to jinx myself!!

Yes. I got hired in April in the ED. Graduated last week. I start 2nd week of June. I'm completely terrified!!!!! But excited at the same time

I graduated 12/12/15 from a school in Florida. I took my nclex in Tennessee on 3/4/16. Took my school over a month just to transfer transcripts. I accepted a job offer 5/6. I don't start my job until 5/31.

Three months prior. I started today and take NCLEX in June. Most of my cohort had jobs prior to graduation.

Many in my cohort also have jobs, and we graduate at the end of July. I received a job offer in the CVSICU at my dream hospital, pending successful graduation and passing of the NCLEX.

I got hired roughly 7 months from my graduation date. For the breakdown, graduated in December (sent my app late that month), got my ATT first week of March, took my test end of March, took 2 months off before starting to look for a job, got hired first week of July at the hospital I was previously working at. It ended up working out perfectly because I found out my hospital hires pretty much twice a year, spring and fall in groups.

I got my job offer a month before graduating. I found a nurse residency program and applied early. Try it.
