I work at a nursing home right now that is about 45 minutes from my house. There is a job opening at a nearby Children's Hospital for an ED Tech and I would LOVE to apply. The only problem is that it's about 1 - 1 1/2 hours away. How far do you guys travel to your jobs? Do you think it would be worth it? It is a full time position and I'm not sure how much it pays yet. I guess I will have to deduct all the gas money from the pay and see if I'm really making that much money at all.
What do you guys think?
Having a job you LOVE but having to drive so far to get to it... Worth it?
My job is 1 hr without traffic, but week days when is traffic Its more like 2 hrs drive... I have done this for 5 years now and I don't complain...:) oh, and all my family lives like 1 1/2 hrs from home and I go visit them twice a month... I don't really mind driving long distance...
Lucky all of you who only have to travel 15-30mins away... :)
how is public transit? if there is an express bus or train perhaps you could nap or study on the commute. also some employers offer bus passes if you ask for them. i do not drive and my town has horrible public transit unless you are going to another city. i usually ride my bike in town going to school took me about 45 mins each way but if i took the bus it would have been an hour

I walk a bit less than a mile down the road to my job, lol
But I would be willing to travel a distance IF the pay was enough to make up for the gas!
