How can older adult pay for nursing school without fin. aid?

Published

I can't get financial aid anymore due to having too many credits, and most likely its the same story with ACT scholarships.

Did any older students find any loans for tuition and maybe even living expenses?

Thanks.

Have you looked into federal student loans? direct subsidized and unsubsidized are available from the government, if you don't have a bachelors degree yet. I have 115 credits and an A.S. degree. Since I don't have a bachelors yet I'm still eligible for pell and direct loans. I think Plus and stafford loans are for graduate and 2nd degree seeking students. There are also plenty of nursing scholarships out there, one very awesome one from the government, HRSA scholarship. You should also consult your financial aid advisor at your school along with your nursing advisor, they can help steer you to nursing scholarships. Hope this helps.

btw... how many credits do you have? There is no credit limit on the pell grant, you just can't have a B.A. or B.S. and show financial need
