How is the BSN entry level program at Nova Southeastern University?

Hey I'm new to this site, and was just curious how Nova's nursing program is. I just got accepted into the Fall 2010 nursing program at the main campus in Davie. Any advice on how it is? Did you feel prepared when you took your NCLEX after completing the 27 month program? Would love to hear from anybody. I'm so excited and cant wait to start in august! :)

Sorry i took so long to reply. but yes you are right, i am super happy i got accepted into the program! it took me awhile to get over it but im starting to realize it just wasnt meant to be and that there is probably something better coming my way... im just bummed i have to depend on student loans! :down:

I totally understand i felt the same way too but i heard they only took 10 from nova :(.However which campus are you attending i was wondering if you ordered your uniforms as yet.If so what website did you find it on.???

i am attending main campus, they called me to see if i was interested in kendall but main campus is actually closer to me cause i just catch i75 and have a straight road. I wasnt even aware we had to order uniforms!!! please keep me updated!! Do we wear uniforms everyday or only for clinicals, and like normal clothes for classes... how does this work!!! :D

yes i spoke to ashley she said that we could order them on the website but i forgot the website address she gave me as i was driving when i spoke to her.I will call her again tomorrow I will also be on the main campus.As far as when we will be wearing uniforms i am not sure i will also aske her and let you know.:)

Yes, we have to order uniform and have it embroidered with the nursing label and our names, plus the patch on the arm sleeve. If they dont have your size in stocks, it may takes weeks for it to come through, especially ordering it from nova. The order place says that I will order mine from , say that their take about a week or a week and a half. I have a friend who goes to the main campus in the nursing program and from what i can tell and the other nursing students in the program that I used to see on campus, they wear their uniform everyday. and you dont start clinicals till the second semester or third I believe. My friend bought her uniform somewhere else because it was cheaper :the address is 7051 west broward blvd, plantation fl 33317 phone # 954-316-7051 Its call Uniform for america, they have different style and the cheapest is $12 and some change and it goes up depending on the style. if you order from the school its going to be more expensive and takes more time because most of their students order from them and from dealing with them before with books and everything, they take forever. As for books, they way too expensive, i learned my lesson from freshman year to never buy books from the bookstore unless its absolutely nessecary and its my last resort. As for what books to buy, the syllabus is not posted yet in any of the classes. To check that you search the word "course wizard" in the nova home page and it will bring up a list, you have to pick the second one from the top and it will bring you to the page you want You can either look it up by semester or your course number.

thanx for all the help! Im a little confused because I called NOVA and asked and they said it HAD TO BE THEIR scrubs! So im a little scared to buy the wrong color, as far as getting the patch and the name scripted would we do it at nova as well or somewhere else?? please help me figure this out it would much help! Also does it have to be a certain style and whats the price of the scrubs at nova?

does anyone know what books we need?? ashley odland says they will not release the booklist until orientation bc they want you to buy them at the book store. I wanted to buy them online for cheaper...

I am going to the fort myers campus and received an email containning the booklist for the year from the lady who does the registration at Fort Myers. She revised it once already so i'm not sure If its safe to buy them or rent them if its gonna change at orientation. I'm pressy sure all the campuses will be using the same book so If anyone wnst me to forward it to them, so they could get a heads up let me know.

Hey! I am going to the main campus if you guys still need the book list. I also have scrub info as well. I dont exactly agree with what the school is saying about waiting for orienation for everything. The scrubs and lab coat take a while as in to get them in and until then you will have to wear business clothes which to me sucks lol. So far I have two book, my scrubs, shoes that I hope are ok, and waiting for my lab coat to still come in..

I totally agree with you ! I just need someone to inform me cause im kind of clueless about the scrubs can you please email me soo I can get more info, also the book list ! I would really appreciate your help ! im also going to main campus , my email is castg9 @yahoo
