How is the BSN entry level program at Nova Southeastern University?

Hey I'm new to this site, and was just curious how Nova's nursing program is. I just got accepted into the Fall 2010 nursing program at the main campus in Davie. Any advice on how it is? Did you feel prepared when you took your NCLEX after completing the 27 month program? Would love to hear from anybody. I'm so excited and cant wait to start in august! :)

hey sueschool, i found out about 2 weeks ago via email. I also received my packet in the mail a couple of days later so i have been getting started with the paper work. Im keeping my fingers crossed for u, i completely understand how anxious u are at the moment. Keep us posted future classmate!

hey carla, it is indeed a wonderful feeling. I am currently living in south florida and i do plan to move up to fort. myers in august. I sent my intent to enroll form as well as my deposit receipt but i still have not received an email regarding my background check so i am currently waiting on that. how far along are you with your paper work?

Look through your packet very thoroughly and follow all directions. You have to do the Florida residency with has to be noterized, background check and magnus health portal. If you do not have those forms, call main number and get on them to give you that info because it is alot of work to do. Also check your nova e-mail, webstar and NOVA VIP page a couple times a day for any changes or messages to you.

Make very sure all your financial aide stuff is complete.

You should get more stuff in the mail describing most of this. I would call and make sure you have everything in prior to orientation. Oh, and did you register for orientation on August 17? Please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] if I can help you any more. I check it twice a day.

hey Carla, i turned in all of my financial aid forms and yep i'am all signed up for orientation but still waiting on the PIN for the background check. I called someone about the background check thing today and left a message so hopefully they get back to me soon. And also since you already live in fort myers do you recommend any areas to stay away from like the bad areas and stuff since i'm looking for apartments up there. Or any recommendations on what areas i should look into, that would be great as well. thank u

Hi Anne,

Good for you on getting all that paper work in. It was alot lol of work and running around to put it all together. As far as bad places to live well, make sure you stay out of Tice area (very high crime). Try to look all around the school so you dont waist gas. I will be driving from the beach everyday cause I live on the island.

If I were very young again lol, I would try to to get 3 to 4 students and split rent getting a house with 2+ bathrooms which would save alot on overall living expenses. There are alot of homes especially this side of Leihigh. Colonial blvd is hell with traffic especially during season Nov-May, so the closer the better for you.

They will call you back about your pin for the background check and oh, Nova pays for that background check so do not give them credit card info. Also don't hesitate to call the help number for background and magnus to help you set everything up. They are pretty nice about helping you.

I figure right after June 1, which is after the holiday and then July 4, things will start rolling full swing ahead and August will be here fast. I am ready and excited. Can't wait to meet you and all my other co-students. I am an older student (49) and hope I am not the oldest lol. I am a serious student but I also would like to think I am a little bit fun lol.

Congrats :yeah: I am doing the happy dance for you. Which campus are your going too? I am Fort Myers Campus. I found out on my VIP page also and I swear I couldn't breath for a moment and my heart skipped a few beats lol. The evaluation forms are to be printed off and each of your letter of recommendations ppl fill those out and send them in. Since you are already accepted you may not have to do those. I would just call admission and ask them. They are pretty nice to work with.

Make sure you get on your finanical aide stuff, Fl resendency stuff right away when you get your packet. Just follow the steps one at a time.

I am also at the main campus! I called and i dont have to do the evaluation form, i think its because i turned in 4 letters of recommendation!

My packet came in about 1 week. Make sure you just take your time and read one thing at a time. I too could not hardly believe I got in. There were over 1000 applicants and just over 200 got in WOW:eek:. BE PROUD YOU ARE A NOVA SHARK.

Now all our hard work will get us somewhere finally. I plan to do the NP or PA track immediately after completion of BSN. I am ready to Rock and I am a old lady (49) lol.

Yes your packet will have the babtist info in it. Good look young lady. I am so proud of a 20 yr old that is reaching for the highest moutains. I hope I can set a bigger example than I already have to keep my two young adult children reaching higher and higher.

Awww, thank you! My mom is already an RN she came from Cuba not knowing any english and renewed her nursing license over here so my standards have to be high lol shes always telling me I cant be below her. So I am more than sure you will be a HUGE example for your kids!
