Hey I'm new to this site, and was just curious how Nova's nursing program is. I just got accepted into the Fall 2010 nursing program at the main campus in Davie. Any advice on how it is? Did you feel prepared when you took your NCLEX after completing the 27 month program? Would love to hear from anybody. I'm so excited and cant wait to start in august! :)
Good luck to everyone starting their journey tomorrow for the Fall we will all see each other eventually, the winter class anxiouslly awaits for our orientation day. OMG I CANT WAIT!!! all my winter classmates see you guys soon b/c time flys = ) we are only getting closer. GOOOOOOO SHARKS!
Those of you who are staring in the winter, just a heads up the orientation is loooooooooooooonnnnnnnngggg. Ours was today at 8 am and we did not finish until 3:30 in the afternoon. It was a nice to finally see all the faces who will go through the process with you but i was not expecting it to be so long. It was just some more information on what is to come and getting all your Id and decal taking care of. Our class was huge. We are a class of 165. The dinning room was filled past capacity but we managed. We got to meet the whole faculty for the nursing program. The faculty was mostly women which is a plus. Lol. Sorry guys, it's just nice to see so many women in power. We got congratulated a zillion times. It was not as scary as I imagined. I got more comfortable and relaxed about the program after listening for an hour. Everyone seems so nice an eager to help us. Well ingrate to the next class and don't worry your time will be here soon. I just thought I share our experience so that you guys are more at ease about what to come.
i agree with nursekitty its very long..... taking care of all last minute details especially your shark id card took forever so be prepared to be there for awhile... so many ppl congratulated our class i was so amazed.. i think they were amazed at us lol lol they congratulated us for how many applicants had actually applied and for us making it this far so it was very encouraging to hear from upper classmen and faculty that they are proud of us joining their team. we have our first lecture tomorrow anatomy aaaaaah its so large our class, but hey the toughest survive and our class seems to be tough... to all of those who are waiting to start just make sure you do things ahead of time because the bookstore was packed and they were out of books to purchase! the professors want the books the day of class since they will start asap. lab coats there was a line to try them on, so go one day and see what fits and order it with time>..... resist the chaos! but it was wonderful and well worth the wait.... everyone was very nice and just kept on congratulating our class and saying wow what a big class this is lol lol.. so get ready everyone.. it doesnt look easy at all and at the same it looks like its going to be a great and fulfilling experience! goodluck to those still waiting and if you need anything feel free to ask me or pm me.. either way we are sharks and soon to be sharks! goooo class of december 2012!
hey nursekitty and jerizana thanks for the update=] jerizana: i have a question for the labcoat i already bought one for a class i took at miami dade its plain has no embroidery of mdc i wanted to know if we can use that? or does it have to be with embroidery of nsu? also the scrubs needed can we purchase the color required and have the embroidery put in? or does the nsu store sell them color embroidery and everything? thanks i know its alot =]
congrats to all of you who are beginning your journeyy!!! [color=dimgray]go sharks
orientation was indeed loooong ..but today was our first session in anatomy and phys,,and i have to say that the professor is FUHMAZING!!! shes so great..anyways do you guys (those in A and P for this semester) want to try and get a study group together once exam time rolls around? i feel like we will all benefit from eachother....also I have a question about the anatomy assignment...there is no actual assignment is there? only the whole getting familiar with the skeletal and muscle system of lower and upper limbs right? we don't have anything to necessarily complete or to turn in correct?
Hi Everyone!!! I received my acceptance letter from Nova for the Winter 2011 term about 2 weeks ago! I am suuupppperrr excited as I feel like I have been waiting FOREVER. I will be going to the Kendall campus. I have already paid the $1000 deposit, sent in my residency papers and filled out my FAFSA. I am in the process of getting my immunizations and the whole nine yards.
I have a question...Has anyone complete the Financial Aid and Loan process? I am SUPER worried. I plan on quitting my job or working VERY minimal hours come January and I need to pay for tuition plus another at least 20k for living expenses. I just wanted to get an idea of what's available.
Congrats to all of us who start in January!!!! It's going to be a journey!!!!
