hello!

i applied in the crnbc and they replied that my application was reviewed may 26, 2008 and i am missing the following docs; prof of experience and employment reference. im also dmc ER trainee. may i ask if u asked for employment reference from dmc? and is the certificate of my training is enough to be prof of expereince?

thank you

CRNBC told me that they don't need my experience in order to be eligible with CRNBC as long you didn't graduated 5 years ago. Employment reference refers to Canadian employment reference. The one you must comply the 250 hours supervised practice to get the full license.

As long you are made eligible to take CRNE and for temporary registration, all is well and that's the time you can now look for an employer.

Good luck!

Does this mean i can apply for licensure in BC even without work experience nor any training?

yes, you can be made eligible with crnbc to take CRNE without or limited experience as long you did not graduated 5 yrs ago. BUT, it depends now on the employer whether to hire you or not.

You can apply for registration even without a hospital experience as long as you did not graduate 5 years ago. With this you will also be eligible for temporary supervised registration if a Candian employer will sponsor you. However, you have to fulfill the requirements of the registration, e.g. working at least 250 hours for a candian employer and passing the CRNE examination within 2 years time.

Most BC employers would petition nurses who have at least 2-3 years hospital work experience. This is the biggest hurdle in the registration process with BC. Without at least 250 hours of work with a Candian employer, everything would be uselss and will expire in 2 years time.

Good luck.

if you graduated more than 5 years ago, you must comply the 1,125 hours of work experience in your home country.

I have read the requirement in CRNBC and it says, "you can submit to them documents for pre assessment".During assessment my school should directly submit it but what about the pre assessment? Is it me or my school? How about the English test? Should I complete it first before submitting for assessment? what if I took it already, can I give it to them together with the application or I have to take the exam again so it would be directly mailed to CRNBC.

your school must directly send your transcripts to CRNBC. You must also request IDP or British Council to forward your IELTS result to CRNBC.

Just take time to read the forms and instructions.

Sir breech, can I have you email please? I'd like to ask some questions :) Thank you.:)

To everybody who is applying for BC, I would recommend that you get hospital experience first before applying for registration with BC. Breech must be very lucky to have at least a provincial nominee program. I have worked for 6 months as a staff nurse and at most 2 years as a Triage Nurse. I am also licensed as a nurse in the US, CGFNS and ICHP certified. Yet up to now, I am not receiving a good feedback from any of the health authorities. I am still waiting for 4 more to reply and I will update this site if ever. This is not to discourage applicants but I would just want to inform you about the possibilities after your application. I have been assessed by CRNBC.

kit is very much correct! finding a Canadian employer was a very tough experience in my case. Up to now, I still couldn't believe they accepted me with this a handful of experience (maybe of my constant follow-up and even calling them thru phone). It's just a matter of showing your interest by being honest to them of your purpose working abroad.

Good luck everyone! Just visit this forum if you have questions and we are ready to answer queries to the best we can..:wink2:

I just got a letter from CRNBC stating they have my documents and along with the letter were necessary forms that have to be accomplished. All of a sudden, I'm worried because of kit25's last post.
