Hi guys i need your suggestions on this, my wife recently passed the recent board exam given by PRC last June2008, in this regard shes asking the step to take in going for an RN in British Columbia, Vancouver. What are the requirements so she can have her papers assessed.
I did that already. They're requiring me to have my qualifications assessed by CRNBC. WEll, I'm on the process already. I have a lot of questions to ask you. I'm weighing things right now because I applied to 3 different countries. My US application commenced late December 2007. I would want to gain experience from other countries. I have a pending REgistration application for Canada and in Queensland Australia. I hold less than a year experience as a ward nurse (MED-Surg and ER) and an ongoing post graduate course in Psychiatric Nsg. I am employed close to 2 years as a TeleHealth Nurse for US patients. Please PM me. I have a lot of questions to ask. Thanks
hi kit25/092084,
i'm also planning to apply and be assessed by crnbc. did both of you finish 4 year BSN degrees? would you happen to know of anyone with a 2nd courser BSN who was approved by crnbc? i hold a 5-year undergraduate degree plus 2 years of BSN and i'm wondering if crnbc will find this sufficient, even if i didn't graduate from a 4 year BSN program.
thanks in advance and goodluck to both of your applications.

I'm a shifter from a technical school (engineering-1yr) to nursing. However, I finished BSN for four (4) years. As long as you have the degree and the number of hours of clinical placement, there is nothing to worry about.
i just had only 6 months experience, not as staff nurse but an icu nurse trainee.here's the list of the health authorities in bc where you can apply:
bc health authorities

092084Hi. I have a friend who already been made eligible to take CRNE..All she needs to do now is to find an employer to sponsor her. May I ask where did you find an employer? Are you doing it on your own or through an agency? Hope you could help my friend on this. Thank you
Would suggest your friend contact local hospitals in the areas they want to live, many will have helped foreign nurses and will assist with the requirements but very easy to do without the aid of an agency
you can do it without the help of the agency. Just email the external recruiters on which health authority you like to work. In my case, I found an employer without an agency. You just need a computer and the internet, and you can have it. It's quiet painful on your butt sitting all day reading and researching but it's worth it.:typing
If you have the eligibility from a regulatory body and had sufficient experience, its not a hurdle to have an employer.
BTW, I was accepted by Interior Health.
Good luck!
