Im all set and registered to begin 4510 on 8/26, but Im wondering how bad it is. Im in the process of moving to Phoenix to begin my new job and I know Im already going to be a little stressed just from moving across the country and not sure that I should add school on top of that. Is 4510 really bad? If so, I think I'll just wait to start it until the second session. Im taking it with Prof. Mo--- if that helps any. Oh, and for Business Comm, which Prof. F should I be avoiding? Fl--- or Fi---?
I'm going to start Fall 3 as well and haven't written a paper in 30 years. To say I'm intimidated by this is an understatement! Does anyone know the book that is used for this class so I can start studying up on APA? I plan to buy PEERLA. Anything that is helpful to an old dog learning new tricks will be needed.
Nannycakes,
I was where you are a year and a half ago. I graduated from a diploma program 35 years ago.
Just take it one step, one paper at a time. Be sure to really proof read your papers. I also use citationmachine.net ALOT. It isn't always 100% accurate, but, it puts it in the general format, and you just have to double check that it has all of the info. I used the ApA book only occasionally.
Dedicate time and committment to the program and you will do fine.
Also, this board is great help. good luck with your start.

I had been out of school for quite a while also. I used the APA book more than the OWL - it was just easier for me to locate what I was looking for in the book rather than searching all over a website. Used son of citation quite a bit also. Just getting ready to start Grad school - so I will be pulling out the references again. APA is a pain, but you will get used to it. Good Luck!
nannycakes. I was out of school over 30 years and knew nothing about APA. What the heck is that! It takes some getting use to and how to format it, but once you get the hang of it it isn't so bad. There are good TA's and bad TA's that can make or break you. I am also on the FB page for the BSN program and that has also been a godsend. We were all in your shoes and know what you are feeling. I am doing well and so will you. You can teach and old dog new tricks

All you need to do is review Purdue Owl (online) for APA-i found it much more helpful than the APA book itself. As for business communicaiton, i had a nightmare with professor F (i wont spell out whole last name)-wasnt that the course work was HARD but very time consuming and pointless-nothing at all related to nursing or anything we ever need to know (more of a common sense waste of money course)
