How to answer Priority Questions on the NCLEX?

Published

Hi Everyone, it seems that the NCLEX in high on PRIORITY QUESTIONS. Any advice on how to answer priority questions. Thank You.

most unstable patient gets seen first

The Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment book is a great resource if you need help with these type of questions. Unstable gets seen first, use your ABC's.

Any answer that has patient confused or restless is most likely the correct answer.

Stable vs. unstable, acute vs. chronic, expected vs. unexpected, ABC's. You have to evaluate each answer choice carefully before deciding.

Airway+ breathing issues together, then circulation. Then look at Maslow. Psychical needs always before psychosocial needs. Pain = psychosocial unless it is new onset and an indicator of an acute issue that needs immediate attention. Acute always before chronic.

Patient with acute and unexpected S&S are seen first.

Thank you all for taking the time out to answer my post. I am sure It will help us who are still tackling the NCLEX.

If you follow ABCs first you will fail the exam.

ABC is not proper prioritization.

Stable vs. unstable, acute vs. chronic, expected vs. unexpected, ABC's. You have to evaluate each answer choice carefully before deciding.

This is the proper prioritization.

Thank you'll so much.
