Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

Everyone in this group stay positive because we will end up where we belong it’s just a matter of time and persistence. If we can make it through nursing school we can do anything!!!

Was that for a specific unit?

From my understanding it’s for that hospital location because most other locations have already sent out invitations for match day which is next Tuesday. I hope this helps.

How did they notify you?

I applied about 2 weeks ago and got an email about the interview for HCA last Friday. It’s for all locations

How soon is match day if you don’t mind me asking? I applied a little later so was thinking they may sending invites based on timeframe of application.

I reached out and they informed me that contact would be made in April regarding interviews. So I assume this is only informational.

@haleylayne12 NO!!! I honestly did not think it would take them this long to reach out to us. I’ve never been so anxious for something in my life!

I mean they did tell us by March 24th and they do have a lot of different applicants to contact and sort out. I literally have lived at Children’s my entire life and it’s my dream job so I just want to know already?
