Houston Nurse Residency Winter/Spring 2024

Published

Hi everyone! I will be graduating with my BSN this semester and I'm applying for residencies in the Houston area. I already applied to Houston Methodist but wanted to hear about other programs that might be interesting. Best of luck!

went to harris health's informational, it seems like LBJ and Ben Taub is extremely competitive because they are only accepting 1-2 new grads per unit expect ER is 10. they said they get around 500-600 applications (I think)

Yes they seem very selective!

So you know if they are going to send out the PowerPoint from the meeting?

Just got an email for a phone screening for MD Anderson. Does anyone have advice for what they might ask? Also, does anyone have an idea on their salary for new grads with a BSN?

How long ago did you apply? I just submitted an app to them last night, I'm wondering how long it will take to get a call back.

Hello, I did applied to st. Luke's a few weeks ago and I haven't heard anything back. It didn't specify which location but I would want woodlands or vintage. Are most people applying to the med center? I know the pay is better but too far of drive for me.

I also haven't heard back yet, I think most apply to tmc because of the pay

Mine is under recruiter review now. Yes, I applied to multiple residency programs. Do you happen to know the typical compensation for a new grad?

Hi!
Has anyone else heard from Houston Methodist? I received an email today for a 20min phone with a recruiter. Does anyone know if that is the normal process and what all will be asked?
