Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2022

Published

Hey everyone! I saw that there was a residency thread for Spring but not for Summer 2022. I graduate in March 2022 and I believe a lot of the Summer cohorts begin in June/July. I plan to move to Houston once I've written my NCLEX! Where is everyone considering applying? I am looking at Houston Methodist, Memorial Hermann, MD Anderson Cancer Center and St Lukes. I would also prefer to be at hospitals specifically in the sugar land area so I hope when the time comes theyll have the units I want in certain locations. I would like to be in the PACU! Is there anyone else that wants to work in the PACU as well?

Specializes in Senior Nursing student.

Houston Methodist application opened up today for anyone interested in applying there

Also, are there any “Pre-Match Day” type of virtual events this year or info sessions for any of the Houston residencies? I’m from out of state so I’m not sure if Texas schools have shared this!

Memorial Herman  is having a zoom pre match day starting February 8-11. It includes all of their hospitals as well as children’s.

Does anyone know how much we would be getting paid as nurse residents? I know that residents get lower in general but does anyone have an idea?

Everyone seems to be starting in the $30+ and hour range

Ben Taub - $30-36 per their application

MemHermann - shared in a zoom - $32.50 (during orientation), upgraded to $33 Shift differential - $4 night, $3.75 evening, $4.60 TMC nights

Not sure of Methodist but they are known to pay the most

Could anyone please drop the link for Ben Taub application? I couldn't find it anywhere

Does anyone know what would happen if you can't make Pre Match Day? Will they provide a list of who's hiring for what? kinda sucks they are all during school hours...

For highest education do we put our bachelors if we still haven’t completed it or the one we have completed (in my case high school). Sorry if this sounds dumb but I don’t want to put the wrong thing LOL.

Do you know where I’d be able to sign up for this? Thank you!

Hopping on the bandwagon to stay in the loop! I am interested in transplant nursing and have applied to St. Lukes, Methodist, and MD Anderson!

Feeling VERY stressed and overwhelmed!

LOL I never know what to put for that either

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone else could confirm the when Texas Children's applications close. I saw on the first page that someone had said March 5th, however, I was unable to find that information.

Thank you!

It’s March 5th it’s stated on the app what’s you click to apply. It’s down at the bottom under all qualifications

MD anderson and st luke application were pretty easy. All they asked was for my resume and transcript. No cover letter or anything else. Did anyone include a cover letteR?
