Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2022

Hey everyone! I saw that there was a residency thread for Spring but not for Summer 2022. I graduate in March 2022 and I believe a lot of the Summer cohorts begin in June/July. I plan to move to Houston once I've written my NCLEX! Where is everyone considering applying? I am looking at Houston Methodist, Memorial Hermann, MD Anderson Cancer Center and St Lukes. I would also prefer to be at hospitals specifically in the sugar land area so I hope when the time comes theyll have the units I want in certain locations. I would like to be in the PACU! Is there anyone else that wants to work in the PACU as well?

Yes I agree! There all great hospitals, so it’ll really come down to pay to distinguish them in my opinion.

What unit at Harris health did you get an offer from?

Is anyone else waiting to hear back from St. Luke's and MH TMC? Both of my applications say 'application under review' and I see people are getting interviews and job offers and I am really nervous ? I have only interviewed with Houston Methodist west & TMC and hope I am still being considered for other hospitals too....

Houston Methodist just held their big in-person cattle call/speed dating interviews on Friday for in town folks. Out of town and zoom interviews are being held this week. For TMC, they only had you meeting with HR recruiters.. individual locations actually had staff/managers interviewing. I would expect that real TMC interviews will be offered after they talk to all the out of towners so at least one week from now.

Memorial Hermann has not sent out anything yet.. apparently they are one of the last one's to send out interview requests and offers.

St Luke's TMC did zoom interviews on Thursday and sent out offers Friday - currently offering $33 + $4 geographical pay for TMC and then a $10k sign on bonus. 

Ben Taub started interviews and is continuing through next week. I know that the ED is still interviewing through next week but some in other units may have gotten offers.

I think that is all the updates that I have.. hang in there and hold out for WHAT YOU WANT!

Does anyone know how much it cost for staff to park in the med center? (Ben taub, houston methodist, etc.)

I know at Ben Taub the HR people can validate your parking ticket making it free
