Starting a thread about Houston Nurse Residency programs that open this month/next to start in June/July!

My understanding was that anyone who applied and met the minimum requirements got invited to the pre-interview day on Thursday. However today at my clinical at methodist woodlands a nurse manager told me they already picked the people they were going to interview and those people got invited to Thursdays event

RIP - then what’s the point of having multiple screening/interview dates?

Just out of pure curiosity I’m not from the Houston area I actually currently reside in New England and will be moving to Houston soon but is there a reason that there hasn’t been discussion about the StaRN Nurse residency program at Houston northwest? Is it not a good progam?

So it's already been narrowed down to a pool of people for each unit? I'm suprised. I thought it was everyone who applied too.

I didn’t apply to the northwest one, but I applied at other facilities! I guess the HCA hospital network it just smaller and less well known compared to some of the bigger networks that we’ve discussed here. While the facilities I applied to aren’t my top choice, I wouldn’t be opposed to working for them.

Specializes in Cosmetic RN.

HCA hospitals have mixed reviews. Their residency program isn’t a bad program.. I’ve heard that it’s a rigorous, challenging program. Also they start their program a lot more frequently than the other hospitals so there are more opportunities to get with them than the other hospitals. I applied to HCA.

???? same!

LOL at professionally ghosted, is everyone BSN here? I'm ASN and plan on doing BSN starting this Summer in houston hopefully...so my options were limited in programs, is there anyone else on here like me? or is it just me? And if so, which other programs other than memorial hermann did you apply to?

I too was personally victimized by Houston Methodist ghosting ?? I tried to email and call several times, but never heard back. So just counting that one out at this point.

I am an ADN as well. I got invited to the prescreening for methodist and I’ve done the assessment for memorial Hermann. The last thing I heard from them was that they would be contacting on March 16 to invite to the match day.

Is anyone attending the Houston Methodist prescreening event today?

I attended. There was alot of candidates but all campus were there so I am guessing that is why.

I interviewed today! It went well and I came later in the day and it was pretty quiet in sugar land area.

Have anyone who applied to MD Anderson Nurse Residency heard back?
