Starting a thread about Houston Nurse Residency programs that open this month/next to start in June/July!

Ugh I am just over HCA and this year!. It is just ridiculous.

From what I’ve noticed from applying to residencies AND normal RN jobs, residency is our only option as new grads. I applied to normal RN jobs that said an RN 1 (us with less than a year experience) was acceptable to apply but then got rejected from all of them for lack of experience. Some hospitals say they want less than a year experience for normal RN jobs, but then say if you have less than 6months of experience you must go through the residency. So we have very limited options these days unfortunately.

A residency isn’t your only option. Look for clinic jobs on Indeed. I’m interviewing with two clinics after not getting a residency
