Starting a thread about Houston Nurse Residency programs that open this month/next to start in June/July!

Only thing I could think of why this changed all of a sudden is that they suddenly changed their mind seeing how the COVID numbers have shot up recently. ugh we just want to work and help, someone hire us!! lmao

LOL exactly!! Now she’s saying “September” we will hear. It went from March, to June, to July, now September??? I’m not trusting it. May look else where now. I would’ve rather them tell us the truth than give false hope. I would’ve have looked elsewhere ages ago

They definitely didn’t extend any offers as her weekly updates two weeks ago said something else. That’s just unprofessional. HCA owns my school and we get residency with them and not a single soul heard anything back. So definitely no offer was sent out LOL. At this point I will just keep sleeping and waking up at home. Thank you Coronavirus ??

woah what none of yall even got offers?? Thats insane!! I just cant believe all of this is happening. I mean I know the hospitals cant help it, but I just wish they were more straight forward about it and there wasn't so much wishy washy info

HCA has been uncertain about hiring new grads for their Summer cohort since the beginning by extending their interview dates 3 TIMES. They already extended all of the offers? Nah, y'all didn't hire anyone and are too ashamed to admit that y'all wasted our time. They knew since the day that they interviewed us that they were not certain on how they were going to hire a cohort for the Summer. That is the sad reality of it all. I know people always talk bad about HCA and here I was trying to give them a chance. SMH HCA?

Has anyone heard from MH SW? It was my first choice but I haven't heard from them since the interview. My application says "Interview in progress."

Has anyone heard anything from Memorial Hermann about their second choice? I was denied my first choice but my second choice at memorial city still says application received

Not yet but im in that exact same situation! I was denied my first choice but my second still says "application received"

I received a rejection from my first choice last Wednesday and was called Friday morning about my second choice (TIRR in the med center). I interviewed yesterday. I’d guess the timeline probably varies though based on the campus.

I’m just appalled by HCA. I don’t understand how other hospitals like Memorial Hermann interviewed for their Summer cohort and selected people then moved on to interviewing and hiring for their fall cohort and HCA still can’t get it together for their fall cohort. I’m BAFFLED

For those of us that were waiting for HCA, has anyone been able to find a different/temporary job of some sort for now?

I am looking into cosmetic nursing, but I am still trying to figure out if you need prior hospital experience...
