Starting a thread about Houston Nurse Residency programs that open this month/next to start in June/July!

Has anyone heard from their second choice for MH's fall cohort?

I did. I got a call on Friday. I’m interviewing with TIRR later today.

I hope you do get to float. A recruiter from TMC did say that the Observation unit does get to cross train to ER so that’s good experience either way if MC allows it. Has your friend heard back from SICU? I just got an offer this morning.

That’s what I’m hoping! CONGRATS on your offer!??? I’m so happy for everybody finally getting hired ? I think the other SICU person was another user on the thread!

Congratulations to everyone who got offers. I am just here dumbfounded as to why I didn’t even get interview for fall cohort and rethinking my move to Houston. I am from out of state and don’t know if this hospitals here are really accepting of people coming out of state cause it seems that’s the only reasonable excuse at this point. HCA is still MIA too so I don’t know.. the stress is just too much might as well keep working as a CNA at this point till I get my NCLEX done.

Im from the Houston area and went to school in the Medical Center and I have only gotten 2 interviews for Summer cohorts and haven't gotten anything for a fall cohort either, so I do not think it's necessarily those coming from out of state! I think it's just the times right now!

Oh okay that’s settling. I am just wrapping my head around this whole thing. Very depressing took out the fun of even graduating ?.

HCA is updating us this week, & while you’re waiting to test I wouldn’t give up hope. She did recommend me to just work where I live, get the 1 year experience, then move because people are always hiring for experienced nurses. Only downside is I won’t get the residency experience. In the meantime I’m gonna look around for other jobs & if I don’t hear from HCA by mid August I’m just gonna stay in my hometown. Sucks, but I’d like to believe everything happens for a reason.

I am not sure if you're willing to relocate to anywhere in Texas, but Baylor Scott and White is hiring currently hiring for their nurse residency program in Dallas! Applications just opened last week.☺️
