Houston Nurse Residency: Spring 2023

Hello all! I wanted to start this thread for students graduating in December of 2022. I plan on specializing in either Pediatrics, L&D, or Postpartum! What field do yall plan to go into and where are yall interested in working?  I know that applications for some organizations will be opening up soon. Hopefully with this thread, we can keep each other informed and up to date. So far, I am aware that the Houston Methodist application opens on September 1st, and Memorial Hermann opens on September 11th.

hopefully we hear back soon. maybe they’re interviewing main campus first so they can pull those who don’t get offers to have more applicants

I also haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully after tomorrow. Im pretty sure they have a lot of applicants to go through. It's weird though that they haven't closed their registration yet either, bc they probably would have by now since the interview days are these next couple of days..

I haven't heard anyone mention applying for HCA hospitals, are they bad? I'm not in Houston so I don't know anything about them is there something I should know about HCA?

I’ve never met an HCA nurse that enjoyed their job. very high ratios, no support from leadership, low moral and pay.

for the people who got a pre screening with Methodist today, how did it go? did they say when would you hear back?

I got emails from the Woodlands and The Vintage to set up interviews, but it says that they're only interviewing for Med Surg at this time.

Yes I got an invite for The woodlands for Med Surg, so I’m confused are they only doing Med Surg residencies?
